Webroot keeps saying Protection Expiring Soon

Ok so My webroot is expirecing in like 7 days , the popup keeps coming up onthe bottom right, so I purchased a new key from amazon and installed the new key and webroot works fine , it starts ike normal witht the green screen in the bottom right but the annoying messge also keeps poping up too saying “ Protection expiring soon! “ and I have to X it out every time. How do I stop this from occuring? its happening to all my devices even thought the program works fine with the new key entered.

Ok it looks like we have a fix , I did have to uninstall the program off each one that had the problem per instructions then reinstalled with the link to the download , make sure you download a new download just to make sure they didn’t add anything needed, I will attach the instructions support sent to me to follow that worked..

thank you all for your help, it is well appreciated !

Hello @johnnybor

Try this again and then reboot the system. Put the new Keycode in and it should do a scan to check the keycode to the Webroot Cloud.

If it doesn’t work you will need to contact Amazon and if that doesn’t work contact Webroot Support Directly.

Webroot Support:

Submit a ticket 24/7/365 it’s the best way!

Call 1-866-612-4227  during the week Mon - Fri 7 AM to 5:30 PM (MST)

Also phone numbers from around the world: https://www.webroot.com/us/en/about/contact-us

Note: When submitting a Support Ticket, Please wait for a response from Support. Putting in another Support Ticket on this problem before Support responses will put your first Support Ticket at the end of the queue.

Thanks,

You can try a clean reinstall of WSA.

Please follow the steps closely!

  • Make sure you have a copy of your 20 Character Alphanumeric Keycode! Example: SA69-AAAA-A783-DE78-XXXX
  • KEEP the computer online for Uninstall and Reinstall to make sure it works correctly
  • Download a Copy Here (Best Buy Geek Squad Subscription PC users click HERE) Let us know if it is the Mac version you need
  • Uninstall WSA and Reboot
  • Go into Safe Mode and Delete these Folders if they are there!
  • C:\Program Files\Webroot Folder
  • C:\ProgramData\WRData Folder (Hidden Folder)
  • C:\ProgramData\WRCore Folder (Hidden Folder)
  • Boot back into normal mode
  • Install with the new installer, enter your Keycode
  • Let it finish it's install scan
  • Reboot once again
  • DO NOT import any old settings as you can set it up as you like once it's done

Info in case you don’t know how to go into Safe Mode: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/start-your-pc-in-safe-mode-in-windows-10-92c27cff-db89-8644-1ce4-b3e5e56fe234

Please let us know if that resolves your issue?

Thanks,

Then contact support directly to see what's going on the backend maybe the keycode from Amazon is the issue.

Same thing here. Exactly same thing. I done everything, and nothing at all removes this horrible popup. Support is no help.  I’ve been using this for 10 years, and for the last 6 I haven’t any issues prior to the console issuses that are still there. How could a key be the issue if it still works, and gives you full access upon activation? I have spent countless hours looking over everything. Running the removal tools. You name it. Nothing works. I miss the old console that would allow you to delete users, remove keycodes, and force scans. Can’t even deactivate your keycode on the software so you can reuse it on a new bought pc. That way it won’t count toward your users on that key. Other companies give me that options.

As I said we can’t do anything on the Community so stay with Webroot Support, I also said that the keycode from Amazon could be the issue. We Mods are Volunteers and don’t have any backend access.

We miss the old console and all of my Keycodes are on it so I have no need to use the new one...so I’m still using the old console.

I will ping the Community Manager and hopefully he can find out what’s going on! @TylerM

Very odd and if it was wide spread more would be complaining and I see 3 have so let’s wait till tomorrow to see if @TylerM  can give us some insight on how to fix this issue as he will be in contact with support from the inside.

@BradW  @JR565   for visibility!

Support wrote:
Hello,

Yep, as mentioned on the previous ticket we do understand. The issue you are reporting has been popping up recently during keycode activations, we are aware of the issue and are working with the proper teams to investigate this further.

The Workarounds for it are either to follow the initial message we sent or to initiate a proper uninstall/reinstall.

The Webroot Support Team

I would give it a few days and let Support investigate the issue. They should be able to sort this problem hopefully soon.

@dxmr399 I have my Paid Webroot License on the old console. I put my Beta Licenses on the New Console. As you pointed out the Old Console you can do a lot more with. The thing is, now I have my Beta licenses on Both the New Console and Old Console. I tried to put my Paid License on the New Console and couldn’t do it, it was rejected. Webroot needs to get it together with this Console mess. Go Back To The Old Console or Put All The Commands in the New Console like the Old.

@johnnybor @dxmr399 @Trishalyn

Hey everyone!

I just talked to support and confirmed that there is an issue with the expire soon message. There is no loss of protection and it is just a notification issue. They are still investigating the cause of this issue and I will update as soon as we have an ETA on fix.

Please note that your subscriptions are active and there is no compromise of protection.

Thanks!
