Endpoint Protection

Hi,   We have recently found an issue when connecting a Wacom STU-500 via USB to our clients pc's - in that the device is being blocked by Webroot.   Is there any way I can allow this device to work? The company that supplies the device is iconnect360 and the program requires elevated trust to work...    Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated.   Thanks!

I hate to start a new thread but I am having trouble figuring out where to set up restrictions to certain domains and categories.   I changed it one time, and now I want to update/change settings categories and add domains that we need to block on the end users and I have no idea where to go.   Thanks for any help.

We have a online application. Users internally / externally receive this error when using Chrome:   Error code: ERR_CONNEC?TION_ABORT?ED   I have: 1. Uninstalled / reinstalled Chrome 2. Uninstalled Malware Bytes, CC Cleaner and Spybot 3. Updated OS (windows 7) 4. Deleted Cookies and History 5. Uncheck "auto apply" within Chrome advanced settings.   Obviously posting here means we do not use Kaspersky, which I am finding is the issue, it isn't.   Thanks in advance!

hi guys,   i have a terminalserver 2008 r2 with secure anywhere. today a thread was found in one user session.   on all other sessions a window popped up stating to remove or to wait to remove the thread.   how can i configure that not all logged on users get this message?   the system stopped respondig and a restart of the server was neccessary...   what need to be configured differently ?   thanx in advance...   juergen

Hello All,   I have an infected laptop and do not want to allow it access to our corporate network.   I downloaded the webroot windows install file and installed it on the laptop, but when I try to scan the laptop it says Aborted.   Also, when I try to switch on Realtime shield etc. it says that the subscription is expired.   Are these symptoms because the laptop is not connected to the internet?  if so, is there a way around this so that I can disinfect the laptp without putting in on my corporate network?   Thank for the help.   Joe

everytime i run a scan it says 15 threats removed  even if i do it multiple times in a row...   now it says 20 threats removed i have emailed support several days ago but no reply maybe this is quicker?

Hi, We are using the webroot Business for our office,   we are using the webroot business for our office, i have heard that the WSE Astromenda is a browser hijacker program and a potential threat for the network.   Why my webroot didnt detect it?  

Looking to remove AVG from 400+ systems and was wondering of anyone had some tips.   We are looking to use Group Policy to remove AVG without the enduser knowing, if at all possible.   Thanks,   Doug

When you do an in-place upgrade from windows 7 to windows 10 the windows 10 upgrader does not allow windows 10 to be installed unless you remove webroot endpoint, which requires console access.   If someone had to do an in-place upgrade of windows 10 and the person that has access to the webroot console wasn't there the in place upgrade can not be completed.   What is the plan of action for this to keep webroot on top of things?    

Hi everyone,   Just have a query on what people do to protect themselves from users opening malicious hyperlinks.  We recieved an email, which one of our users opened. They clicked on the embedded hyperlink and downloaded a virus which was luckily caught straight away by the AV. The category for the site was "society" in the webroot web security.    We have webroot web security, webroot antivirus and a spam filtering software installed. User education is also a big factor we will focus on again.  I would just like to know if there is any other option I may be missing besides disabling all hyperlinks from emails. It would be also interesitng to see what other companies do in this area.    We are running outlook 2010 and 2013.    Thanks in advance,   Brian

when I went to open the internet this morning a warning came up that said it was from microsoft windows and that I had some malware and to call this number immediately 877-599-2253 and they will tell me how to remove it.  What do I do?

This is currently one of the functions in the policy settings of Webroot.  However, I have found out the hard way that several of the settings (IE cache, Chrome cache, and microsoft office recent document history) are not available to manage as part of the policy settings.  Turning off the central management of the system cleaner does not rectify the situation -- the settings are left in place.  The only way to change them that I've found is to set the machines in question to unmanaged policy, make the necessary changes, and switch it back to it's normal policy.  I've confirmed this is a bug with support, and they let me know it's went to development but no eta on a fix.     Has anyone else run into this?  If so, what did you do to resolve the problem?  I spent some time combing the registry and looking for settings elsewhere to see if I could find where Webroot stores the settings for the policies, but I couldn't find what I was afte

Wonder if someone can help me. I'm currently trialling Webroot Global Site Manager, and have generated some new Key Codes to deploy to endpoints.   My question is this: I have used both the .exe and an .msi with the new keycode to install. If webroot is already installed, it just opens the GUI (if it's enabled). I was assured that the key code should over write the key code currently in place. Is there an easy way of doing this?   When we do eventually migrate to the new console, we have a lot of clients that we are currently deploying via .msi. It would be a royal pain to have to uninstall nearly 1000 endpoints to just have a new key code.   Any ideas?

I'm evaluating Webroot SecureAnywhere Business Endpoint Protection for my organization and cannot see any evidence of the Web Threat Shield providing checkmarks or x's next to Google search results.   I'm using Chrome 37.0.2062.103 m and IE 11.0.9600.17280 (tried 32 and 64 bit) Webroot version - 8.0.4.123 OS - Windows 7 Professional SP1   I deployed the MSI via group policy software installation as well as running the MSI manually.   I have of course rebooted after installing, and all Webroot clients are using the default policy so the Web Threat Shield should be enabled by default.   I've also checked http://www.amtso.org/feature-settings-check-phishing-page.html and it is blocked in IE but not Chrome.   Our organization primarily uses Chrome.

A PC in my company was infected with a varient of Crytowall, however Webroot did not catch this until after the PC had been infected and files on a network share had been encrypted. What I'd like to know is:   Will my other hosts running Webroot be  protected? How is this information collected and disciminated out to other hosts in my network?Thank you.

Hi everyone,   I just checked something out. The Webroot was blocking website so I was wondering how to unblock it without turning off the Web Shielding. I used a MD5 calculator to recalculate the full domain and I created override marked as "good" and guess what - it started working... Is that possible? I veryfied that with other dangerous addresses and it works fine too.   Thanks

Is anyone else having trouble loading the Gradecam plugin while Webroot is installed?  We've whitelisted the .msi, the.dll and the .exe yet we still cannot run Gradecam with Webroot in the background.  Once we pull the client off a workstation Gradecam works just fine.  I'm open to suggestions.
