The internet has enabled a whole host of silly holidays—from “What if Cats and Dogs had Opposable Thumbs Day” to “Bathtub Party Day.” And the list goes on. But World Backup Day isn’t one of them. New Community Features Incoming!

Hey Webroot Community, I’m pleased to announce a new feature coming soon to the Community website! We will be implementing a brand new and fully featured Leaderboard “widget” and point-system. These points can be tracked on a weekly and all-time basis and will give us an idea of who is staying the busiest on the forums. Soon to follow after the implementation of this leaderboard, we will be putting an updated badge system in place. These badges will add a new reason to remain active in the forum by giving you all some rewards to work towards! I’ll be updating this thread as we progress in this implementation. Please post any questions you might have or offer any ideas you might have for these new systems! For instance: -Would you like to see any particular badges? What kind of metrics would you use? Most comments/most likes/etc.? -What kind of swag would you be interested in for earning badges? Mugs/cups/shirts? Looking forward to hearing your ideas! :) -Keenan

International Women's Day 2020!

Today, we celebrated International Women’s Day at the Broomfield OpenText office with an incredible group of individuals from all parts of the organization. In honor of IWD, we introduced the #EachforEqual campaign and discussed opportunities for championing equality in the workplace. Participants discussed the idea of the ‘broken rung’ concept. This is when women face many hurdles with climbing the lowest stages on the corporate ladder. By having an interactive session with questions and answers, we also challenged and bolstered people’s knowledge around inequality in the workplace. The final challenge for the group was to identify what action they will take this year to help promote each for equal at OpenText. Community Updates - Instant search is now availableCommunity News

Instant search and search filters are now available! As of now you will be able to narrow down search results and perform more specific search queries with the help of filters. We replaced the old search result page with a new page that includes a bunch of new and improved functionality. Can’t wait to see how it looks like and works? View the new search page: https://community.webroot.com/search In some edge cases the total topic counter may not reflect the counter in the filters, we are aware and are looking into these inconsistencies What’s new Category search - searching in a category page will only show results from that specific category Instant search - the list of search results will automatically refresh after some time as you type in a search result page Endless scroll - when you reach the bottom of the list of result we’ll automatically load a new set of results Search filters - we added search filters to the search result pages that will allow you to filter on

News article with different slant on OpenText's acquisition of Carbonite

This news article is interesting because it takes the slant that maybe OpenText did not acquire Carbonite for its data backup services but rather for its “cyber resiliency solutions” (and, of course, its “goodwill and revenue stream” from its online backup services).
