We are very pleased to announce the launch of the DNS Leak Prevention Beta. This is an opportunity for us to share with you the feature we are about to release, as well as to solicit feedback, both from a technical and functionality perspective. Download the Beta Runner (link removed)Documentation available (link removed) What is DNS Leak Prevention? This is a new patent pending feature of the Webroot DNS Protection product. It is designed to provide control of DNS by blocking all alternate DNS resources aside from those configured in Webroot DNS Protection. This is done by locking down port 53 TCP and UDP (DNS), port 853 TCP (DNS over TLS), and port 443 TCP to known DoH providers. Why are we creating DNS Leak Prevention? As Webroot DNS Protection is a DNS filtering product, if we are not filtering every DNS request, it means that things are being missed. For example, if a web browser were to be configured to get DNS resolution directly from its own server, and disregard what was confi
Just wanted to confirm: Webroot Endpoint Protection only runs on Windows or Mac. There is no business product for mobile devices: phones and tablets? If I want to use Webroot, will I need to purchase separate Webroot Mobile Security home-user licenses for each device?
Hello there,I am new to OpenText Cybersecurity solutions and am looking for some guidance on best practices for implementing these tools in a hybrid IT environment. Our organization is currently transitioning to a mix of on premises and cloud based systems; and we are particularly interested; in leveraging OpenText's solutions for data protection; threat detection; and response. What are the best practices for integrating OpenText's cybersecurity solutions with existing on-premises infrastructure and cloud platforms? Are there any common challenges or pitfalls that I should be aware of during this process?🤔How does OpenText support data protection; especially with regard to regulatory compliance? Are there particular features or modules that are particularly beneficial in ensuring compliance across hybrid environments?🤔Could anyone share experiences or recommendations on using OpenText's tools for incident response? I am interested in understanding how these solutions can help in ear
Hello Team, What does the reason why the status of the agent command is failed. I tried to uninstall Webroot on a device. After 22 hours I checked the command log and it says failed. The device is checking in fine on the console. Any reason why it fails?
Every time we push a phish test our help desk is inundated with tickets from clients “helpfully” informing us that they discovered a phishing email in their inbox. We’ve tried distributing the phish test over the course of a month to keep volume down, but that just spreads out the tickets. We have a few ideas we’re kicking around, but wondering if others have good strategies already in place. Thanks!
Hi Webroot Team, Newbie here. Can we audit device per sites if Web Threat Shield extension for Browser is enabled or disabled? Also, if the Web Threat Shield extension is disabled from a device with Webroot client program, does it mean that if the User accessed a malicious site, Webroot would not block it? Thank you.
I have a Mac which has Webroot installed a while back. Now suddenly it seems not to be activated. When I copied keycode manually to Webroot, nothing happens, it's just coming back to the same screen, informing:subscription information not available.Machine information:- Mac OS Catalina- Webroot 9.1.0.144I tried to install the latest version, but the installation is not completed, I guess because Catalina is not supported by the newest version. The program is not activated, so cannot upgrade Webroot on this computer to a newer version.Any idea to fix this?Thank you.
Hi All, I’m a Webroot noob and just wanted to grasp how Webroot manages Agent Version lifecycle and how might that effect AV Definition updates.Apologies if there’s a topic or webpage displaying this info.I’m administering a site with a spread of 9.0.29.26 Agents, up to 9.0.35.12 and the Management Console I’m looking at gives a nice RAG status spectrum of the Agents, with the 9.0.29.26 coloured in Red...assuming that means it’s out of support? Is this just a visual indicator to suggest updating or has that version actually expired and at risk of not receiving the latest AV definitions? Regards
Hello all, Has anyone been experiencing this issue with the Webroot Endpoint Protection agent for MAC? All our managed MACs in various sites, running macos 11/12/13/14, are experiencing this issue. This has been happening since October 2023. This happens after a reboot where the agent will load correctly and then crash during a scan. Webroot Support has not provided any ETA on a fix. Thanks for any feedback, Michael
Where can I find a list of the error codes using wsasme.exe in a Windows script?Thank you.
With the deprecation of the endpoint management console, we have lost a critical tool to help support our clients. Please add the client’s (WAN) IP address to the entities listing or to the summary section above or below the Internal IP as a suitable workaround.Using the Universal Reporter is too slow and cumbersome to obtain this information.
I think I read somewhere before, but I cannot find it out so if anyone can point me to that page, it would be great. Basically we are having mixed Windows 10, Windows 11, Mac High Sierra, Mac Catalina, Mac Sonoma. So, the Webroot Endpoint Protection agents are also in different versions. I want to have the list of each Webroot version which supports for which OS.For example:-Mac release 9.5.11.117 requires at least Big Sur macOS.In addition, I found this page https://www.webroot.com/us/en/legal#sys-reqs but not sure what versions mean here. Is macOS Sonoma a version with different builds? Or Sonoma 14.3 is a version and 14.3.1 is another version?Thank you.
Hi Team, anyone has any experience implementing DNS protection for users who use VPN (Point-to-site). In my case, it is bypassing the DNS filtring after the VPN gets connected. Tried to play with protected networks feature but no luck. Any experience, tip or advice would be welcome. We have mixture of Azure p2s and Sonicwall global VPN client, both bypass DNS agent.
Dear Team, have you seen something like that before? Is it some kind of malware in my browser? I scanned the computer using different scans and I could not find anything. I unistalled the browser and the icons look normal. Is it something to worry about? Normal look:
Hello,I’ve got a question. I started my PC and this message poped up. Is it something I should worry about? I tried to remove a potential threat but it was impossible. It got stuck. I restarted my PC, scanned again and there was no such message anymore. I checked the console and it was fine. Could someone explain it? Is it false or sth?Thank you in advance
Good day,I’m curious if anybody can shed any insight on the deprecation of the old Endpoint Protection Console and what we are to expect in terms of changes as of November 28th? I have reviewed training videos and understand where to perform most functions using the new console and entities. Please understand that we have hundreds of a sites listed in our consoles and I have reviewed the videos.Currently if I wish to go to the console and perform work on a site, I can go to the Sites list and I can search and find the site wether that is ABC company or XYZ, then I can click the little pop out or go to Endpoint Protection and click the “Go to Endpoint Protection Console” and I can access the old console. So what happens when the existing console is deprecated? will this button go away? Will there be a new button that will jump us to the specific site in Entities? There are also some logs areas that I’m suspect will no longer be available.Currently I can see which users accessed a site in
Hello, how are you?I'm sending this message because I would like you to help me clarify a few doubts.I've been testing the autopilot in order to automate the SAT tool.I have a couple of questions:1. Is it possible to create a monthly routine, meaning the campaign runs every month and sends a phishing email to users each month?2. Could you explain how SAT works?I look forward to your response.Best regards,António Correia
Hello all!I am a cybersecurity analyst for an MSP and I am in charge of the Security Awareness Training program. I have been getting this error when trying to access the Webroot SAT platform:{"statusCode":500,"error":"Internal Server Error","message":"An internal server error occurred"}Probably every other day I get this error. It is getting annoying as I have to delay training until this error is resolved. Do you guys have insight as to why this is happening? Your help is much appreciated. Thank you!
I'm in the process of migrating end points from our old console to WGSM. I'm having issues with a couple of endpoints not accepting the key code changes. I will input the key code manually in the old console, they will appear briefly in the console for the key code they have been changed to, but they still report the old key code, so they eventually reappear in the old console. I'm also having issues with one endpoint where I'm checking the GUI on the endpoint, sending the command to change the key code, checking in the GUI that the new key code is showing after refreshing the configuration, running a scan, then the key code is reverting back to what it was originally. I'm starting to tear my hair out. Please can anyone help?
Hello, We are using Webroot alongside Huntress, and we want to use the features of Managed AV of Huntress as it can trigger an analyse of the Huntress ThreatOps Team. So, my question is simple, can we use Webroot and Microsoft Defender actively (as Windows Defender can stop a malware and trigger Huntress) on the same computer.Actually, i have just found some very old article that says it’s possible :SecureAnywhere You want to know if SecureAnywhere is compatible with other antivirus software (webroot.com)SecureAnywhere You want tips for running SecureAnywhere with another antivirus program (webroot.com)But it’s about 10-year-old articles, so i want to know if, in 2023, it still actual , or not?I have also seen this post : Webroot with Windows Defender in 2021 | Webroot Community but the solution say that Windows Defender should have Active Scanning Disabled so i suppose that will disable the benefit of Microsoft Defender with Huntress. Thanks in advance
Hello, Is there a way to integrate Webroot Endpoint Protection with a SIEM like ArcSight or similar ?Thanks.
This should be simple: we run a large multi-site network with a number of admins.I need to see the status of our Admins:Name and email, 2FA status, admin type (all on current console) Most recent login date Any login failure info you can provideI can’t see ANY way to discover which admins haven’t logged in. Not in the old or new console, not in API reporting. :(How to solve it?
This option is not available to me --> When I select the endpoint the “Move endpoints to another group” option is greyed out. Please let me know if there is a different way to do this. Thanks in advance.
Hello. Our SAT module shows incomplete but I’ve completed it already and when I go back to the training link, the status is up to date and shows completed. Can you help me figure this out? Thanks! This is what shows in Individual User Logs This is what shows when I go back to the training link
how do I send an SAT training video to the an IT manager to review before a campaign goes out
