Webroot

WebRoot on my Mac just popped up that a file “/Library/Google/…./GoogleSoftwareUpdateAgent” has the threat “MacOS.MacRansomEvilQuest.1.r” It quarantined correctly, but…. what’s going on…  is this a bad file, or does WebRoot have a mistake, or is Google pushing ransomware?

Just looking to confirm what if any email attached PDF files scanning protection Webroot has for a Windows 10 OS PC?  Noting receiving more and more such emails with PDF attachments and not opening them out of concern. What level of scan protection is provided using Webroot currently as not seeing current conversations for years on this topic? 

please  help  someone!? all of a sudden webroot blocking my firefox & chrome browsers! 😞  when I turned off webroot protection, browsers working fine, then when I turning webroot protection back on, same problems 😞 I tried to add an exception by doing all these steps: 1. Webroot is misbehaving since upgrading to Catalina 10.15.5.  I can see others have this concern and I could scroll and scroll through the answers, but I’m hoping for a quick reply.  Is this situation hopeless?  I keep getting the red or yellow exclamation point, I get screens popping up in the middle of Zoom sessions telling me to add Webroot to my Full Disk Access, and I have already done it.  The box pops up over and over and is not responsive to anything I do, no matter how often I follow the same steps.  Very frustrating.

I think webroot may be stopping my PC [windows 10] from going to sleep   I can’t shut it down and it has very high CPU in task manager   I tried opening it [maybe a new version opened] I then went through advanced settings, and manually closed it - but the ‘version’ in task manager is still open and ‘working’ Is that a virus? Say webrootsecureanywhere (32bit)   WRSVC How do I kill that from running Is it really webroot Why is it running such high CPU and is it stopping my PC from going to sleep Thanks for any help

I made a Webroot account and put in my activation code. Now I am trying to log into my account but I can’t seem to. At the log in page, I put my email and password. Next I put in the F2A code ( i get a new code every time because I downloaded a 2 Factor Authenticator app because it was recommended) and it starts to log in them immediately logs me out.  I have tried to put in lost/ stolen code, then put in my security answers but they say I am wrong. It tells me that my account is not verified and I do not get any email to further my progress.

Webroot Secure AnyWhere ver. 9.1.2.69:1391 installed Web Filtering Package ver. 1.3.0.2 keeps cancelling my scans after I recently updated the program.  I followed all the instructions when a window popped up saying to open system preferences, click full disk access in privacy tab an open up the application folder. I did all of the above multiple times to no avail.  Anyone know how to fix this?  I would be very grateful.  Tried contacting webroot support several times but got no answer.   Thanks wmausa ( Please do not post email as this leads to Spam) Edited by ssherjj   

Is Webroot compatible with the new macOS update Catalina 10.15.5?   BTW still have not heard if Webroot is compatible with macOS Catalina 10.15.4 

Every few hours, my Galaxy Note8 will have an pop up for Tiktok covering my entire screen.  I've removed the app from the phone, but this ad keeps popping up. How do I get rid of it? I'm sure it's tracking data of some sort.   I have run a scan.   I never had a tiktok acoo0unt, so I'm not sure why this ad is live.  

I've noticed that Webroot secure anywhere doesn't automatically start when my Android phone restarts. How can I fix this? I should mention, I've got a Samsung s10+, Android version 10, UI 2.1, security updated to June 2020. Webroot Mobile secure anywhere 5.5.6.46428 (up-to-date). And I'm a premium user.  I tried reinstalling. I tried making the app an admin. Nothing works. 

As the title says, I tried to uninstall Webroot Security Anywhere  Opened up windows program for uninstalling programs, searched up webroot, found it, and attempted to uninstall. For about 5 hours, it’s been stuck uninstalling with the cursor having the little blue circle next to it. About 3.5 hours in, my screen went black with the cursor  still around and occasionally joined by the blue spinning circle.  It is still like this right now. Anyway i can fix it? Is it safe to shut down? I need something I can do, as I don’t really like the idea of taking my computer with my personal data on it, including important financial information, to a specialist during a pandemic. I just upgraded my Mac to 10.15.4, and it’s informing about legacy system extensions when Webroot started. And warned that it will not run in the next version. Wondering what Webroot will do to avoid that?

How do I add VPN Service to my current Webroot everywhere account ?

I am unable to log in to Webroot SecureAnyWhere website, even after resetting security code three times.   I also can't access my printer to scan to computer now. It was working fine minutes prior to me attempting to access Webroot SecureAnyWhere.   I am completely frustrated at this point.   Lostandconfused.

Webroot tagged a program that was set to run in my Mac, is this a threat? /volumes/installer.app/contents/macros/phenomenalism   currently have it blocked but should I delete?  Can not find any info on line about this.   Please help and advise, thanks!

I'm wondering if anyone has developed a Python 2.x  SDK for the Unity API. We're planning on writing an integration to poll log information via the API, and our existing codebase is Python 2.x.   I'm aware that there are C# and VB.NET versions of the SDK - if there's no Python version, would it at least be possible to get access to the C# version as a learning exercise?   Thanks,     -- Doug

Have just recently renewed my Webroot security and now every time I click on Webroot to open it, it doesn't do anything, doesn't load or anything, I have seen several people experiencing the same issue as I have and everyone reverts to private chats or refers me to support who continuously tells me to delete application and reload it in safe mode which I have 17 times now, still same result! is there a boot up lock on MacOS that is not allowing it to load or open? im ready to turn away and ask for refund, this has literally gone on for 2 weeks now and im running out of patience and hairs to pull from my head. Any help would be great.     Also note that I have ran the disk utility and ran the first aid on Webroot as well as my Mac. 

I was scrolling through my usual mod site and came across this mod I thought looked interesting. It had some manually verified files but I didn't think much of it since I download mods like that all the time.  I hit download and extracted the folder but before placing into the mod folder I got a warning message saying a threat has been identified. It came up as "Win32.LocalInfect.2".  I've gotten warning messages like this before but my computer deleted them before they could finish downloading, however this time it downloaded onto my computer. I immediately deleted the file and it's extracted contents before running a virus scan and a full windows defender scan.  Both came out clean and upon further inspection I noticed the mod was an exe file and the only one posted by the author so it was more like a failure in observation on my part. I'm a safe for now or is there still more I can do? 

It’s been quite a while now and I still have no functional Webroot when I updated to Catalina 10.15.5. This is way too reminiscent of what happened last year when it took months for Webroot to work with a new MacOS update. What can you tell me?

I am trying to consume webroot console api methods. I am able to successfully authenticate, obtain a token, then use the token to consume the /service/api/console/gsm/{parentKey}/sites to obtain a list of child sites. Whenever I attempt to consume any api call for the child sites I get an unauthorized response. I am replacing the {gsm} variable with the AccountKeyCode and the {siteId} with the SiteId property of sites being returned. I have also tried using the parent gsm and get the same result. The AccountKeyCode property returned by the /service/api/console/gsm/{parentKey}/sites doesn’t have the “-”s in it. So I tried both with and without. There must be something obvious I’m missing about calling API methods for child sites. Please help. FWIW, I’m using C# to access the API and I am not using the SDK.
