We're implementing/still testing a virtual desktop infrastructure using Citrix XenDesktop 7.6 running atop VMware vSphere 5.5.  The environment is built, support servers running, etc. and we're working on master image deployment via Citrix PVS, but we're running into trouble when it comes to WSA installations.  According to the documentation, running WSA is supported within the virtual environment, either using the -clone or -uniquedevice commandline option.  We're building WSA into our master image and we've tried it both ways (used both command line options), but when we provision our virtual machines, we don't see those registering within the Webroot Admin Console.  When we used -uniquedevice, we saw 1 provisioned VM register in the console but with continual refreshes, that same instance in the Admin Console would change names, our assumption was that we were seeing the last provisioned VM to check in.  When we used -clone, to be honest I'm not exactly sure

I’ve tried rebooting and reinstalling multiple times.  I’m testing the business endpoint protection free trial out for my company, we really can’t have two antivirus programs running at once. From other posts it seems like I will need to leave the windows firewall running, that is fine. Web Root is running, I can perform scans and there is a green system tray icon. Windows is not recognizing Web Root as antivirus software though and it’s not appearing in the drop down for providers. The only provider appearing under antivirus is Windows itself (see screen shot). Any assistance would be appreciated, I’m hoping to switch all our licenses from Symantec to Web Root but only if it cleanly installs and runs with Windows.  

Hello. I can’t seem to log in to my SecureAnywhere Console.  Apparantly I’ve enabled 2FA. But I don’t remember where the security code is sent. Its not going to any authenticator I have. (Google, Microsoft, Authy). Its not going to my email. I’ve tried resetting but its saying my security questions are wrong. Could Webroot please help with this?   Thank You.

I’m running Webroot SecureAnywhere EndPoint Protection v9.0.26.61                   I’ve been battling a strange issue where my whole OS becomes unresponsive. I get the “(Unresponsive)” message on all windows. Sometimes the screen goes black with only a mouse cursor movable. When it begins, the start menu stops working and I can’t start new applications. Task manager won’t open and CTRL+ALT+DEL doesn’t do anything. Any applications that were running before have a random chance to continue working or freeze. I can’t reboot. If I am able to issue the reboot command it never happens, likely because Windows can’t close all the hung windows.                 I thought it might be a hardware issue, maybe a failing HDD but I’ve ran numerous tests. All the tests tell me that nothing is wrong. I have been keeping Task Manager open all the time just to see what is going on. I’ve finally noticed a pattern. Webroot kicks up to 10% CPU usage when the event begins. After that,

Hi all, I’ve gone through and created phishing campaigns, custom email templates and so forth with no issues against our internal site (targeting the others in the office). I have made global custom templates and set them to published, but when I try and use them against an actual customer (external) site, they do not appear in either site, system or global for selection. To be clear, they are not visible in the console when I select Settings > Email or if i go through the New Campaign process. I would have thought creating a template with global settings would allow me to pick up that template for use with any site. Am I incorrect in thinking this? Do I need to create custom templates for each client site? Is it possible that because we have our internal site set up as a separate entity from our clients (in Global Site Manager Consoles) that this is the cause? Any advice would be much appreciated. I understand that 2019 is ‘supported’ and listed here; LINK, however Webroot does not seem to disable or put Windows Defender in to passive mode on Server 2019 like it would for Windows 10. It also does not show as a listed Security provider in Settings-->Windows Security-->Open Windows Security-->Virus & Threat protection-->Manage providers (link on the right). This leaves the Windows Defender Antivirus Service set to Automatic and running. We all know that less is more when it comes to the amount of antivirus agents on a single machine.   I have been unable to find any documentation on your site or in the community regarding 2019 best practices or when it will be fully compatible. When using Webroot DNS, we have to refresh to get web pages to open.  If we switch to Google DNS servers, web pages open up without issue.  Any ideas

I know that version 9.0.27.49 is on a gradual roll-out, but only 2/100 endpoints have received the upgrade.  Both happen to be the only workstations still running Windows XP.  (yeah, yeah, I know… XP is not supported)   Has this roll-out been paused due to an issue?

Where did the Business Endpoint Protection forum go? Is this the beginning of the end? The product was absolutely filled with bugs and errors. It was obvious support wasn’t doing anything about the problem. Does anyone have any idea if OpenText was going to fix things or should we all start looking for something new (and a whole lot better)?      

So I’m trying to set up 2FA for my Webroot console login. I plan on using an authenticator app, but I haven’t gotten far enough to actually make that happen because I can’t get that far in the process. I would like to know if I’m the only one who finds the “Security Question” portion of setting up 2FA on Webroot to be foolish and insecure. The problem is that before I can get to setting up my authenticator with Webroot, I have to choose answers to two “Security Questions”. Nothing new about security questions, right? You choose a question from those provided and put in your answer (usually something unique to the user’s life history). It’s a good way to avoid stolen passwords from allowing access to an account. It’s not foolproof - some bad actor could possibly know a user well enough to guess the answers - but it’s a fairly secure second-string method of verifying the users identity in the case of something like a lost password or other sensitive operation. Just an FYI, A Business SecureAnywhere client had a noticeable increase in DNS requests coming from their network with no apparent cause. As a precaution I temporarily installed and ran MalwareBytes which detected Adware.FusionCore on one of the systems. This had gone undetected by WebRoot and Windows Defender.

I have an interesting issue, Our Point of Sale stations that utilize bar code scanners are returning skewed results that are running Webroot. The issue occurs in IE, Firefox and Chrome. I have disabled the plugin for webroot  for all 3 browsers with the same result. Conversely POS stations running kaspersky do not have the same issue. The condition can reproduced readily on any POS station.  Scanning to wordpad or note pad works fine so I know the hardware is ok. Our POS software is cloud based, but I am able to replicate the issue when scanning to google translate. I believe the issue is regarding mixed content. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  

Hi Webroot, For nearly 4 years you've been saying that 2FA is in the works, but it still hasn't been implemented (The security code isn't 2FA, it's just a second password). Have you released a timeline where your customers can expect to have 2FA security available?

Hello-  We have a client based in Mexico and  not all employees are English speakers.  Is the training curriculum available in Spanish?  I know that the rest of Webroot can be localized, but I didn’t see anything specific to the training.  Thank you.

 I have webroot installed on my home computer and when I type in a word to search for my own web site (checking if it's above the fold) and when it comes up on the search results page there is a red exclamation icon beside my site's search results  ... how can I assure you that my website is safe an make that icon disappear? 

We've had issues when connecting to Wi-Fi where it shows that we have no internet even though we are connected to the wireless network. We've only seen this issue start after implementing Webroot DNS. Anyone else having this?

Does Webroot protect against RYUK? We have 3 devices connected to a clients network and the client has told us they are infected with RYUK. Thanks for any help.

As of lately a majority of my endpoints don't accept agent commands, it says they either elapsed, executed (but is never executed on the endpoints) or not received. Sometimes it can take days or weeks for the endpoints to show executed even though they check in every day. Changing policy is instant. After a remote session and submit logs to Webroot, Webroot says there is no fix for this at this time. Does anyone else experience this issue?
