With the recent announcement regarding Crash Plan,  I'm forced to seek another cloud backup solution. Webroot's 25GB is more than enough storage for my needs but I am curious as to how they compare.  Need a stable and secure off-site solution for drive recovery.  Not going to be syncing data across mult-devices, more concerned with data encryption for security.  Any suggestions much appreciated. We added a site admin to be able to view/manage one site only. yet when we select that site and look at the admin tab, it does not show them listed. When we go back out to the GSM and site admin it lists the admin, but doesn't list what sites they are an admin of? Is there no way to check this, or maybe the admin wasn't setup right?

I am having problems getting the web console to add my computers. I have tried installing Webroot many different ways (I have tried 2 different product keycodes also). I install the software, enter my email and key code, the installation finishes OK and shows the subscription time...but the computer never shows up in the web console. I have also tried installing from the web console by "Add a PC".   I am currently talking to a rep with a ticket. I have done this before and he was able to add the PCs to my web console list, but I would like to know if I am doing something wrong because I would like to add computers to the web console without having to bother Webroot with such issues.    Thanks!

I recently 'retired' a PC from my network. I added another PC to my network. I want to 'transfer' my Webroot protection to the new PC. What must be done to delete one protected PC from Webroot protection and add a new PC for Webroot protection?   Side note: The PC I retired shows up 6 times in my PC Security page. I've read the post about 'deactivating' a PC after running a couple scans to identify the 'valid' PC. Does this anomaly have to be factored into the procedure I asked about in first paragraph?   Thanks for your input...

Twice in two days I've had customers with Webroot installed call because they opened a Web page that displayed some kind of virus alert. Their browsers were locked (unable to be closed normally) but I was able to close them using taskkill. Their computers were otherwise unaffected (as far as I can tell, and I did take time to review them both).   Is Webroot supposed to intercept that kind of activity? If so, it didn't work in these two cases, although nothing else malicious ran on them (again, as far as I can tell). Would some forensic information help to defend against this sort of thing? If so, I should be able to collect information from both computers.

Greetings: I have installed the free version in order to test it. As I mentioned in another post, I somehow got infected with erotic pop-ups, these are formidably annoying due to 1) children (I am 47, have 4 daughters and a very young son), and me wife starts to become jealous...   Now, the traners are found and considered virusses (one is identified as a worm no less), but the infection is still present. This can mean 2 things: either this infection is so new, it is unknown yet, or... WebRoot is not quite effective... For now I am betting on the first theory... I will try a few other removers, see where we get to.   About the information request: just how come that game trainers are seen as malware/virusses? I am very much aware about the false positives they give, but just what causes this? As for 'protecting' these, I excluded these from further scans, allowing them to exist, and I am so bloody glad, WebRoot

Greetings all:   First question: is there a trial system, if so, where can I obtain it?   Second question: I got infected with erotic web pop ups. I tried Bitdefender, but that sodding crap thing (excuse me the French, please) kept deleting stuff it did not had to delete, resoring that stuff ended up with it being deleted not 10 seconds later, and I could not prevent this, no matter what I tried. Granted: game trainers do give a false positive, but even then, the fact I could not prevent these files from deletion is VERY wrong. I am not even master anymore in my own system. They should be ashamed. Avast is such other creep in this regard. Can I safely tell Webroot to not delete certain files, or will this program just as well trying to become master of my stuff? Heck, even if my system was 110% hacked, then still they should leave my stuff alone (and NO, I do not run hacked stuff, for the record, I was talking 'in case of').   Thank yo

since the last optimization, right clicking on any file, folder, directory crahes file explorer (windows 10 x64 1703 16281-1000) could the optimizer have been overzealous in deleting some registry key ? your help will be appreciated. thank you

It comes with McAfee pre-installed. Of course I don't want McAfee. I want Webroot. I asked Dell if they could not put McAfee on the pc. But he said "No, it comes pre-installed and if I tried to remove it, it would just re-appear." I find that hard to believe. And I certainly hope it isn't true.   In preparation for the new pc, I have downloaded the webroot installer from JP's signature.   When the new pc comes, should I uninstall McAfee first and then install Webroot? Or should I do the reverse. Or does McAfee need to be uninstalled, if I don't activate it. I guess there's a 30 day free trial. I'm so excited.   Also the pc will have a 500GB ss drive and a 2 TB drive. Should webroot go on the SS or the regular drive? Or maybe it doesn't matter. Never had a SS drive before. Thanks.

Hi: This morning I opened Internet Explorer like I did yesterday and everyday  ( I know, that's my first problem, but hey, I need to know what happens when my customers do these things ) and Webroot popped up and said that C:Program Files (x86)Internet ExplorerIEXPLORE.EXE is trying to connect to the Internet and is not trusted. I clicked on Allow Always, but what should I tell my customers when they ask why Webroot does that? Thanks, TimC

I have ATT as my Home page and ATT as my Email Account. I have the latest version of Win 10...the latest version of Firefox and the latest version of U block origin. All of a sudden I'm getting ads plastered all over my ATT Home page and whats worse is " Sponsored Ads " in my Email. There are video ads running all the time and even though I close them, another one takes its place.   The " Sponsored Ads " in my Email inbox seem to be the most annoying. It seems as if there is no way to get rid of them/ stop them, unless I pay a Monthly Fee and get whats called a " Yahoo Mail Pro ".   All this annoyance started a few days ago. Ive contacted ATT and one technician told me that they would stop in a few days. Another ATT technician said there is nothing that they can do. I contacted Yahoo and they pushed the " Yahoo Mail Pro " to stop them.   To me, this is a form of Blackmail. I didn't ask for any of this JUNK, it just appeared.

Have encountered a problem during EP installation deployment. When the program installs on one specific user, it prompts for the License Keycode to be typed in. This is incorrect as it was setup to auto-install with established keycode and then be detected and imported into default group on EP Access Portal. Can enter the keycode manually but then the EP Access Portal doesn't recognize it, won't import it, and the installation fails itself because it says the keycode is invalid.   Can someone assist me please with this and what am I doing wrong that can be resolved? Thanks.

Sorry if this has already been posted, but I could not find it anywhere.   I was wondering if there is a way to enable full scan logs for all computers in a policy all at once, so that I do not have to manually remote into every computer for a client and enable this?

Webroot has been such an amazing Team! I remember way back when I first met them, they are truly loyal to everyone and are very dedicated to making sure that their customers can feel safe from all the monsters lurking online!   I have been a loyal friend to the Team many years now and always will be! Sure, one might say "But there is a lot of other Security software out there"...   But I can tell you with 100% certainty that there is none that have the conviction, dedication, and passion to make Webroot what it truly is - The best security software on the market!   Another thing about them is that they really do care about their community and take every bit of feedback to heart. Anyone ever get a phone call from someone claiming to represent E Wizard Support Services and that he sees malware on one's computer?  

Are there any issues with Webroot and Microsoft Edge?  I am not certain which browser to make as my default.

Hi, In Chr.ome I turned on Extensions for Webroot. Web category information for Google, Bing and Yahoo. When I open detail: Permission to read and change all your data on the websites you visit. Manage your downloads.  Should I keep this extension or remove?  Kind of scares me when it says can read and change things. Thanks

For example, i have about 500 clients running version 9.0.17.28 but i would like to downgrade them to 9.0.15.65   How can this be accomplished?   //Daniel

My husbands webroot secure anywhere is about to expire. I want him to use my webroot disk now because it is good for another 9 months. Does he have to uninstall his first before putting the new disk in?
