Webroot detecting Google Play services as a Trojan ?!!

My daughter's LG phone sprang up with a Webroot message indicating - Android.Trojan.Gen.Heur Google Play services com.google.android.gms Webroot has determined that this app is a trojan..... Really? How can we know if this is a false-positive or genuine? How to proceed?

QuestionI have put a new sim card in my phone, and now my phone is locked. The big problem is my phone is not online, so the command I send is not responding. Please, what else can I do? AnswerThis is the Webroot lock screen: If this isn't the screen you're referring to, you are not looking at the Webroot lock screen, and you should contact support for the lock screen you are seeing. If this is the screen you are seeing, please read on. The password is normally checked online. However the password is also stored locally on the device specifically for cases like this. Anytime you successfully log in by verification online, the app updates its local cache for In Case Of Emergencies logins. This has the side effect of meaning that the phone will always remember the OLD password if you change it online until it is able to verify the new one online. No keyboard can't unlock phone

Removed sim card from nexus 5 now webroot has locked this device at owners request. Push unlock the box comes up enter password but there is no keyboard on the screen it is connected to wifi

I made some settings on my phone , now the only screen I can get is for emergency calls only. I can't get to my phone settings or Webroot settings. The phone is useless now. It is an Android. HELP!!

I used on my phone and it was doing fine. Then all of sudden when I turn it on the security anywhere button is off. Everytime I turn on my phone. I've never had it before. You think when put on it would stay on even when shut down my phone. Need help please!!

Galaxy S7 Edge

I have been a Webroot customer for years. A few days ago, I learned that I could protect my Android device. As my license is good for three devices, I added my Galaxy S7 Edge to my protected devices. As I was setting it up, it gave me several indications that my device was set up in an "unsafe" manner. I stupidly followed all of the suggestions, including using a fingerprint for entry into the device. I glossed over the next few steps. I do recall something about a PIN, but I did not set a PIN. I assume at one time I had set up a PIN on the phone and it used that (of COURSE, I don't remember that!!!) This morning the device would no longer recognize my fingerprint. It is now asking me for a PIN as it won't let my use the fingerprint method anymore. I don't know the PIN. I tried what I thought I might have set it to. Now I have 3 attempts before I lose all my data (which of course, I don't think is backed up anywhere???) Thousands of pictures and videos of my grandkids, which can not be

Notification pulldown cropped

Config: Android 7.1 SecureAnywhere 4.2.0.8078 When I pull down on the notification area I have an intermittent issue where the SecureAnywhere area is cropped, that is I only get the very top of "You are protected", basically from the "v" of the capital "Y". There is enough area as the rest of the bar is blank. This happens intermittengly.

no keyboard for password on Webroot lock screen on LG V20

Hi, I'm trying out Webroot Android on our family phones. I put it on an LG V20 and tried out the locate feature. All worked as expected, phone responded & located, position reported. However, this locked the phone with the "This phone has been locked by Webroot, enter Webroot password" (or similar) but does not put up the keyboard to enter the password! This has rendered the phone inaccessible. I have a request in to support, but thought I'd check here if this has been encountered / solved before. Thanks. ps--Webroot, I really don't want the phone locked so dramatically if I locate it. The lock button is right there and I know how to use it. What if I want to silently locate it or spy on my kids? If a thief sees right away the phone and s/he are being tracked they're either going to toss it or turn it off.

Menu access issue with Android Nougat 7.1 and Webroot SecureAnywhere Mobile Premier

I have submitted a Ticket for this, but I wanted the community to know, in case anyone had a similar issue. I will post the results of the ticket here when I receive them. October 18, 2017 I believe I have found a compatibility issue regarding accessing the Menu and the Options therein: (General Settings, Change Password, Register, About, and Uninstall) using Webroot SecureAnywhere Mobile Premier with Android Nougat 7.1 with my new ZTE Blade Z Max - Z982 (Metro PCS). Whereas my older phone, a Huawei Vitria Y301A2, which uses Jelly Bean 4.1.2, has at the bottom right of the phone, the three lines, which is used to open the Menu on an active screen. But the ZTE Blade Z Max Z982, which uses Nougat 7.1, in it's lower right "dot", does not open the Menu on the active screen. Please Note, the Webroot SecureAnywhere Mobile Premier does *not* have the three dots within it's display, as does the "Mobile Complete."

Solution Agreement Notice

My wife and I both have secure anywhere complete on our phones. She got a Webroot page pop up/warning indicating that Webroot Security complete solution Agreement has changed and gives the option to click and agree. I did not get such a notice. Since this has not appeared on both phones I was just wanting confirm the page as a legitimate Webroot message/warning?

Device Administrator Setting in UNSAFE State

Wondering why my Kindle & Webroot Mobile Device about 8 months ago has a yellow exclamation! My Tablet needs attention. I know how to activate this on my Kindle but leery of doing so. If my device gets stolen it can scream, lock, and lock with message however I don't take the Kindle out of my house. I just left as is. So if my Kindle does get stolen if this feature is not activated I won't be able to locate it via GPS? I read some other users that posted back in 2012 that when their Android goes in safe mode it locks and they have to input the password. Not sure if this is still relevent. I am going to leave as is. Thanks!

Difficulty signing in on mobile app

Is there an easy fix for this problem? I'm having the exact same thing happen to me. Everything is updated and have SAC, but will not allow me to sign in on mobile although I can access my account from desktop and laptop.
