Run MacOS Ventura on Unsupported Mac with OpenCore

You may be able to accomplish that through the help of a third party tool called OpenCore.While the official list of Macs compatible with MacOS Ventura is fairly limited and requiring a Mac built from 2017 onward, many earlier Macs still have plenty of hardware power and life left in them. OpenCore allows you to install MacOS Ventura on unsupported Mac models, offering a way to run the latest system software versions on Mac computers that Apple has decided to no longer support.It’s important to remember that OpenCore is offered by a community driven effort and is an unofficial approach to running MacOS Ventura system software on Macs, so Apple will offer no assistance if something goes wrong. Yes, TurboTax Runs on MacOS Ventura

by: Jamie CuevasIf you’re a Mac user running MacOS Ventura, you will be pleased to know that TurboTax 2022 does indeed work in MacOS Ventura.Both the downloaded and installed version works in MacOS Ventura, as well as the web-based browser TurboTax client on MacOS Ventura in any modern web browser, whether that’s Safari, Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or otherwise.Intuit says that the downloaded version of TurboTax for Mac will work in MacOS Big Sur 11 or later, including MacOS Monterey, and MacOS Ventura. How to Fake a Dropped Call on iPhone

Dropped call to the rescue!With iPhone, you can fake a dropped call from poor service by quite literally forcing the phone call to drop from a cellular connection or network connection. In other words, the call dropping is real, but the reason it drops is because you initiated it, not because of bad cell service or a network issue. Carbonite not working...

I am going to ask this question here, because whenever I try and ask a question on Carbonite’s support page, I get a pop up that says, “Your case was unable to be submitted at this time due to an error. Please try again or contact us through chat or phone between the hours of 9:00am and 8:00pm ET (excluding U.S. holidays). We apologize for any inconvenience.” It seems there is ALWAYS an error on this site, and I can never get a question submitted for an answer. Not impressed here. Do the people at Carbonite support know abhor this? Anyway...I recently migrated my M1 Mac to an M2 Mac, migrating everything over to the new machine. I have formatted the old machine and gaven it to someone else, so no longer are running Carbonite on that machine. When Carbonite tries to run, it stays on “connecting” for a long time, finally saying "Your account has been disabled."My account expires in 38 days, and is set to auto renew (although I am reconsidering that right now)  so still active. Microsoft will forcibly remove Internet Explorer from most Windows 10 PCs today

Internet Explorer dies another of its countless small deaths.ANDREW CUNNINGHAM - 2/14/2023 Internet Explorer 11 was never Windows 10's primary browser—that would be the old, pre-Chromium version of Microsoft Edge. But IE did continue to ship with Windows 10 for compatibility reasons, and IE11 remained installed and accessible in most versions of Windows 10 even after security updates for the browser ended in June of 2022. That ends today, as Microsoft's support documentation says that a Microsoft Edge browser update will fully disable Internet Explorer in most versions of Windows 10, redirecting users to Edge.Edge will "automatically" transfer over bookmarks and other browsing data from IE and display a dialogue box letting users know what has happened so that the last few people using Internet Explorer out of habit, ignorance, or spite will be fully aware of what's going on. Webroot renders Windows 11 un-bootable

After installing a windows update I get the dreaded blue screen. I was only able to fix the issue by reinstalling Windows. This never happened before installing Webroot, and happened twice with Webroot installed.

New data illustrates time’s effect on hard drive failure rates

 February 1, 2023 By SCHARON HARDING SSDs have usurped hard disk drives (HDDs) when it comes to performance, but whether building a network-attached storage (NAS) or having high-capacity needs on a budget, plenty of people still rely on spinning platters. Older drives that have seen a lot of use, however, may not be as reliable as before. Data Backblaze shared this week highlights how a hard drive's average failure rate (AFR) can increase with age.Since 2013, Backblaze, a backup and cloud storage company, has published an annual report analyzing the AFRs of hard drives in its data center. The 2022 report shared on Tuesday examines 230,921 hard drives across 29 models from HGST, Seagate, Toshiba, and WDC, with capacities ranging from 4–16TB.
