Have you ever wondered how you can link to a particular post instead of just the top of a thread?  Here's how:   Most browsers will show you the URL of where you are going before you visit it by mousing-over the link.  What you will need to do is mouse-over the "Reply" button on the post to which you wish to link to.  If, for instance, you are using Firefox, you'll see the URL displayed at the bottom-left side of the screen (shown below).        (Here's the bottom left side blown up a bit in case the image above is hard to read:)

Greetings everyone!  I am new here to the Community, but not completely new to Webroot.  I have been using it for a year on my own computer, and so far I have had very little trouble with it.   Question:  I occasionally receive thoughts and comments from other Webroot users.  If I come across something that I think might be of interest to others in the community and also Webroot itself (customer comments regarding their experience with the products), would it be appropriate to post, and if so, which forum shold be used for such feedback?

Hello all,   I know that Java is not so beloved solution due to dozens of security vulnerabilities, everybody noticed the latest exploit in Java 7 update 10 that BTW was already patched and update 11 is available for download at http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp However there are some cases where Java is a must like online banking etc. Therefore I decided to share the workaround for not working Java in Opera I had experienced recently.   I was having problems with Java in Opera. While Java worked fine in IE9 it didn't work in Opera at all. However  in IE9 Java is handled using Active X what is quite different than plugins. Today thanks to Remco from Opera with who I have been chatting via Opera IRC channel I was able to resolve my issue. Has anyone heard of LI invitations turning up as botmail through another security software? Could there server possibly have been breached? If not I better get back to cleaning out contacts.

Greetings and Happy Holidays fellow Community members!   The holiday season is upon us, and Webrooters everywhere are excited for their holiday time off.  While some of us may be checking in from time to time over the holidays, there will be limited support available from the Community staff between December 21st and January 1st.   If you're having any Webroot technical difficulties, it would be best to open a support case, and one of our global support agents will get back to you as soon as possible.   We should also note that the Webroot offices will be closed entirely on Dec. 24th and 25th, as well as Jan. 1st.   Have a happy holiday season from all of us here at Webroot! 

About 6 months ago, I retired my old XP desktop in favor of a 17" laptop.  The old machine is taking up space and needs to go.  Before I lug it to the basement, there are some files that need to be erased, lest some unscrupulous recycler attempt to profit from my info.  I use WSA to dispose of sensitive files on the new laptop but I don't have that installed on my old box.  Short of tearing the hard drive out and drilling holes into it, is there a fairly reliable, easy way to permanently erase the files using (free) software?    Thanks for any suggestions.

Hello, I'm new to the community. I've been administering and investigating malware events across about 1200 WSA endpoints since March/April 2012. Before that I administered the old Webroot AV for about 1.5 years? I was a huge fan of PrevX and love that WSA is a direct continuation of that lineage. Before Webroot I suffered under the oppression of the absolutely worthless and horrible <OTHER AV PRODUCT GOES HERE>.   We also have WWSS but don't use it as much anymore. Bad experiences with earlier versions of the agent, lack of integration, and greater data caps on business cellular modems have reduced our need.   I also run our desktop management/patching system and build our computer images.   I really, really enjoy the New Product Smell of WSA and the possibilities it has. As a gamer myself, I have to say, I am pretty psyched up about this.  Check out the video.   Microsoft explains that IllumiRoom “augments the area surrounding a television screen with projected visualizations to enhance the traditional living room entertainment experience” and “can change the appearance of the room, induce apparent motion, extend the field of view, and enable entirely new game experiences." Kinect captures the geometry of a room and adapts projected visuals “in real-time without any need to custom pre-process the graphics.” Being a PS3 fan myself, I hope Sony will catch up quickly.  This may be what gets me to buy a 360 finally.  At some point, people will just use a whole room and replace the TV altogether with a projector don't you think?

I can only picture the prototype marketing for these things being something like "Use Android or we'll send these psychotic robots after you!"  Aren't these things creepy?   Google's little green android is now a well-known tech icon. Final online usage numbers for 2012 released Tuesday confirmed that Windows 8 failed to match Windows Vista’s uptake pace during its first two months. Preliminary numbers from Net Applications last week indicated that Windows 8 would end the month behind Vista’s uptake at the same point in its release cycle. Tuesday’s data confirmed the earlier projections by Computerworld. Hello I just joined here and ik this is to introduce yourself but I have had webroot for 4 years now and I have loved it. Anyway latley I have ran into a couple of problems. 1. The scan would take up to two-four hours are more to do. And 2. When i do the scan i get this to show up multipal times in the box   "Informational: Section matcher buffer2 expanded to 1340928 bytes". Sometimes it shows up are red lettering and sometimes black does anyone have any idea what this is? Thank You for your help!!!
