Community 101

I am just finding my way around the forum. Just a little confused by it.   My name is Joe and I live in Ojai, California. I am an 79 year old widower living with my Basset Hound Fred.   Ojai is a small community of about 8,000 located in southern California.   I am a computer nut who seems to always be building his next computer. In the past year and a half, I have built 3 Windows 7 computers and my NEXT one just needs 8 G of memory and an operating system and I can start getting it running. Needless to say, I would accept donations.:D   My friends think I'm crazy and I am beginning to think they are right. I am hoping that this will be my last build.   I could go on for hours but I don't want to bore you.   Nice to be here.:D

I have been using Webroot Internet Security Complete for about 3 1/2 years.Users out there who may have older relatives who are not very computer literate: Hey give Webroot a try. The USA$80/annum fee gives quick scans of your computer, not to mention keyboard logger protection. It  is a worthwhile investment. Have kids at college? You can protect their machines too! Makes a great.gift. I have tried different vendors over the years. I live in the Willamette Valley of Western Oregon. I don't go with the well-known one here.

I didn't know this community existed and I am glad to be part of it.   My account was recently automatically updated with the new Secure Anywhere software and very soon thereafter I began receiving warnings from Webroot of "threats detected, malicious content" where my options were to allow with caution or close, thereby shutting down my webpage. These warnings came to sites that I frequented and were benign such as Yahoo, Yahoo Sports, and even my inbox. I had never before received these and they came faster and faster. The ultimate fix was to uninstall and the reinstall my software and so far no problems.   I want to make it clear that the Webroot Technical Support Team were very helpful and accomodating and addressed my issued in a timely manner and that so far the problem seems to have been fixed.

Just joined the community, got to hang out with the webroot guys abit this week at Spiceworld. I'm a sys admin at a small manuracturing plant, been using webroot for almost 8 months now and highly pleased with it.

Just signed up with what seems like a great community. I've been using the 2014 AV 6 month trial for about one month now. Seems to play well my setup (dual core 3 year old win 7 laptop) and existing 2014 AV from Finland.

I just installed WebRoot Secure Anywhere on my PC. It will not let me print my Bank of America online statement, either from the Print menu or from the "print this page" link on the bank's website. IE10 flashes that it had a problem and had to reopen the tab. This happens even when I turn off phishing and identity protection. This is not acceptable. How do I fix it?

Hello,   I just took part of the Webroot community, so I'm pretty new here. I hope i'm on the right place for my problem.   I'm a user of Webroot, ofcourse. I'm a gamer and I use to play Online games. I recently re-installed my windows and all software (inc Webroot and the game(s)). Now, when I launch one of my games I can normally log-in, but after 1 minute GameGuard (the game's security) give's an error. Whenever I turn off Webroot it works. I never had this problem before. I already contacted Webroot itself, in order to ask if there is any possibility for adding the Game's folder to exclusion/exception. They explained me how I can add Files to exclusion/exception, but they told me it's not possible to add whole folders. Since GameGuard doesn't run in standard .exe form, I cant simply add it... The game contains a thousends of files. so it'd be ridiculous adding them 1 by 1 to the exc

Hi peeps! I'd like to know if anyone knows how to allow links in my emails to become live. These are not direct links, but words between the html karets >asdf</a used to substitute for the full link addresses that I cannot open. I don't know if my settings at yahoo or webroot are blocking the live links. I've looked through security options but don't find this particular allow, unless it's in wording I don't connect with livening up the links. I appreciate any information. Thank you. PBWolf

I want to know about the moderators or Webroot what to think of this action. I relied on that it is an action of Webroot and this enabled with the key, also ran today and then the protection is disabled and shared with me that the ABO has expired, sorry, I did not know that the ABO of yet about 225 days, turns off within 3 days. Now I want to know from you whether this action was or was Webroot Illegal? Now I stand without the antivirus.   Webroot for 270 Days Free

I've been using signature based solutions since the days of Norton, when Peter Norton actually made the product. I'm happy to be here.   It's true, you can tell a lot about a product by looking at the forums they host, and well, the others are chock full of issues, this place is kind of quiet and seems more like a social gathering of the geeks. And that's awesome!   I have to say this is the most friendliest bunch of people I've seen, and response times to ANY issue is jumped on almost immedietly! Also awesome.   Opening a support ticket

Hello all,   I was looking for a great solution for many years for my computer and I knew Triple Helix from another forum, so I decided to give this software a try and glad I did.   Matt

 Had Web-root since Dec and Have owned it before.. It seemed to be doing it thing .. but never found Viruses when viruses where present.  Then when I purchased it in Dec with my new PC..  It seem to find some, but never indicated that they had been removed (for all I know... I dont like windows 8 I still dont even know exactly how to use still came with no instruction .. They say they are on my all in one.... BUT first I got to know how to use it to find it..)  ???  UGH!    .  So I was worried iWas wishing I had purchased Kaperski but since the new change .. It looks like things are looking up.   I would still like to know where clean up is located on the NEW WEBROOT program is.. Please..    Looking good WEBROOT!    

Hi, I'm new to the forum but not to using SecureAnywhere.  I don't know if this is the appropriate place to ask this question so forgive me if it's not.    I have been using the program for years, recently renewed it.  I just bought a new computer to in essence replace my old one but I don't plan to get rid of the old one, will just be using it as a backup.  At least that's the plan if I can get a few issues fixed.  Do I need to purchase a whole new SecureAnywhere program for the new computer or is it possible to use it on the new one too?  Do I need to get a new license or ????  Please advise.    Thank you!

Brand new WSA user. Well, almost. I just purchased WSA after being a staunch freeware supporter for years! I haven't actually installed the software yet, but hope to be doing so tonight. I have not used a commercial AV in probably well over 5 years. I've been following WSA over at Wilder's for the past several months and I've really been impressed with the support offered over at Wilder's from both the WSA staff and the other WSA users. That tied with the fact that WSA is a Denver-based company and that I live literally an hour from them, I really wanted to support them. This is my first journey to these forums and I am just starting to get acquainted with the setup and structure. I'm sure that I will have tons of questions as I start this journey of using WSA.

Hi all   I am mlurp and a bit upset that it takes so much time while I am wanting to see the football game. So please excuse me if I am quick & blunt. This is as close to my question I saw so let me ask has version 8.0.4.17 lost its most important feature, to remove wasted MB's of clutter when shutting down. I see it doesn't clean the Recycle Bin any longer! Is this a sign I have lost the reason I spent so much for so long? Please let me know. And nice meeting each of you... :D  

Glad to join and read about products here, I like my webroot plus. Its set it and forget it.
