I am new to Webroot but have the basic features down.  Recently I went to PC security and chaged my settings to the medium recommeded security.  Shortly after my desk top shortcut and Webroot icon in the start menu disappeared.  At first I though I been hacked but after further invesitgating I realized I was being managed by the web console.  However is disappearing desktop Webroot shortcut and disappearing start menu Webroot icon, as well as my password to configure my webroot being disabled normal behavior for the recommened medium secruirty normal?

Don't like to complain but the Webroot tech support guy that I just spoke with suggested I post this complaint. Last year I bought the Webroot Secure Anywhere software from Best Buy.  I think version 8.  So this year I was prompted to renew my subscription.  I get an email after I had renewed thru Webroot and not Best Buy Assurance (which I didn't know I should have renewed thru Best Buy),  that I needed to uninstall the older version and reinstall.  I just spent WAY too much time trying to find out if I actually had to do this, WHICH I DID NOT, because this years version is the same as last years. Couldn't you add this question to the list of frequently asked questions so that someone else does not have to go thru what I just did. And by the way, not everyone is tech savvy.   I thought I should get the back up cd and was told by Webroot tech support that I didn't need to do this.  So I bought the back up cd for $10 and I didn't even need it.  So

Would like to contact the Webroot people but can't figure out how to do that. I had to do a reset on one of my cell phones and I need to verify that that cellphone still has webroot coverage. It won't accept the key code I was assigned. How do I contact tech support for help? I also need to add another cellphone to my coverage. Oh, and by way of introduction, I am a senior (turn 60 in a week or so) professional person residing in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Just returned with my wife of 41 years from several days at the Pacific ocean. I've been using Internet for years but never have gotten into any "techie" stuff; I leave that to the people I pay to know that stuff! Blessings! Psychodan

I am new to this forum and have a question.  When I view my websites in search engine results, I get a yellow circle instead of a green check mark.  What do I need to do to get the green check mark showing instead of the yellow circle?  Is there a place where I am supposed to submit my website for analysis?

Hello Everyone!   I've been lurking around a bit, looking for answers for my issue, but everything I can find is from February of 2013 and I'm wondering if there are any updates.  I have one program, MP3 Rocket (music sharing) that I can't get into because of Java being blocked.  Is there a way to allow just this one app to run without putting me at risk for danger?  And if so, could someone point me to step by step newbie directions on how to do such a thing?    Thanks :)   Lori

I run a cloud back up service and want to allow this but I am not sure how to go about this.   I also would like to know if there are video tutorials to help me do all the correct setups

I installed Java to play pool with my sister. We usually play on Yahoo Messenger, but when I went to accept her invitation I had a message from Weboot that said, security was blocking Java from working. What do I need to change on Weboot in order for allow Java to be unblocked? Thanks in advance  for any help I can get.

I have only been using Webroot for about a month and scan my computer daily, sometimes more than once. Last week, I noticed my sign in for Yahoo wouldn't work.  I can sign in at my work computer, but not the home computer where Webroot is installed.  Would Webroot allow something in that corrupted my sign in ability?

I like the old Webroot Window Washer, this secure anywhere, just doen't seem all that great too me.  I actually still have Webroot Window Washer on an old disk, it's v6.0.2.411 and I've decided too use it instead of secure anywhere.  I don't see anywhere on the secure anywhere where I can manually wash the free space.   I never thought one shoe fit  theory, wish they'd bring back a stand alone window washer!

Greetings, fellow Webroot users and tech support staff 'n stuff, My Webroot stuff seems to be working alright so far.  I have Comcast Internet, telephone, and cable tv all bundled into one.  I was wondering about the alleged Comcast hack I saw on the news last night.   I have an iMac running OS X Mavericks(v10.9.1).  I haven't beeen experiencing any issues so far, but I was wondering if n e 1 could tell me any strange behavior to watch out for on my computer.  Thanks! I have a problem with constant messages from top arcade hits wanting to download. When I try to uninstall (I never insatlled) in the control panel (windows 7) I get a message asking if I want to allow the program to make changes to this computer. When I select NO, I get a message stating I must use administrative privleges to unistall. I am always logged in as adminstator. Can anyone offer suggestions? I understand there is a dangerous virus associated with this software. Patrick486

Question:  I just  downloaded the trial for webroot and will probably continue the service but should I remove Norton and Mcaffe from my computer. they are expiring in the next few weeks

I am trying to deactivate Webroot Secure Anywhere from my old computer (Windows 7) and install it on Windows 8.   The online instructions say to go to PC Security, click on name of the computer which I want to deactivate, and choose "Commands Tab" and then choose "Activate". The problem is that I do not have a Commands Tab online.   What do I do?

Joined on Monday. Never received the email to confirm so could not post.  FInally some one on the phone in Sales said he would contact someone that might help and they would be in touch. That was yesterday afternoon. This morning I started what was becoming a daily ritual to ask for email resend when I saw the screen had changed. It said my email address had been verified.  To whomever made this happen - Thank you very much. I think all problems have been solved by telephone technical support but it's good to know if I do have a question I can post here for help. Thanks again. ehw  

Help.  We are new users.  Webroot says this threat remains and cannot be removed despite rebooting and running Webroot over and over.....

   I am new to Webroot.  I used to be on the PC Tools Internet Security software, so Webroot seems rather simple compared to that.  I run a proprietary software program that I frequently cut and paste words from other programs into the proprietary program.  However, Webroot does not allow me to paste into my proprietary program.    I'm wondering if someone can tell me how to tell Webroot that my proprietary program is "okay."  Tech support for my proprietary program suggested I add the program to an "exceptions" list in Webroot, but I cannot find such a list.  Thanks,  

Hello, first time user here. In Task Manager under the Startup tab I had 2 WR Installer apps that said were high usage, so I disabled them. Nothing seems to be affected other than the WR toolbar/Add ons. So should I keep them disabled or not? Thanks

A tech cleaned up my computer yesterday and downloaded Webroot on my computer.  Now I have discovered: 1.  The $250.00 that I paid for this service was a bit more than the $50.00 others are paying. 2.  He only downloaded it onto my laptop but my desktop is still using PCMRI.  Which was also a rip-of. 3.  I did not receive a key code for my rather expensive security. 4.  I am unable to make contact with him. 5.  He told me this was a one time expense.  "The security is for your lifetime". 6.  I am feeling incredibly old and very stupid at the moment.   Any suggestions? margot927

Hello everyone,   It's nice to find you and as I expect I shall be here often, a short intro may be in order.   I'm not new to computers but most assuredly new to (and exasperated with) Windows 8. After all, I'm an old lady and was raised with the notion that "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". I see no need for CHARMS, nor for it to take 4 clicks to shut my computer down, ahh but there you are, eh? Sometimes change really sucks.   Here's a huge aggrivation with this new computer: It came with Norton on it, but I purchased Webroot for obvious reasons. I allowed Norton to expire, installed Webroot, and NOW I keep getting Norton's annoying popup asking me to upgrade. I do NOT WANT TO. I have no need to. I have Webroot and so far all is well (except for detesting Windows 8, ugh)    Please, anyone, how the heck do I remove unwanted Trial popups? With this new Windows 8 configuration, I can barely navigate around

Hi,   I just started using Webroot SecureAnywhere. I was previously using Bitdefender Total Security but it's autoscan feature drove me nuts. It would constantly scan my laptop every time I took it out of sleep mode. I decided to give Webroot SecureAnywhere a try and I like what I see so far.

Hello, I just recently purchased Webroot and it works great! The only real problem I have encountered so far is the "security setting" blocking an applet in an online class I am taking. I don't want to mess up the settings but I need to allow the applet to pop up to do the project. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!   Fred

I inadvertently started to install a Mindspark.com program called FromDoctoPDF. When I noticed it was about to change my home page and search engine I stopped the install. Now I can't uninstall it from Control Panel. It's looking for a file on my computer names 65Bar.dll and it doesn't exist. Mindspark recommended installing another of their programs and using Control Panel to remove - now I have two of their programs on my compuer. The readable text in the non-removable files say in part - Do not remove and I am also not able to remove them by select and delete.   Webroot tech support says they don't find anything wrong on my computer, but I really want to get rid of these files. Would appreciate any help... Sorry if this is too long... first time on a forum board.   Al

Does it make any difference if I run the scan first and then the optimizer or vice versa
