What is happening with Webroot tech support?

Contacted tech support on three different occasions to work out a problem with a subscription renewal. I fear I may have wasted my money. Perhaps this will get some attention.

Is there a way to block files by extension?

Hi guys, Is there a way to block files depend on extensions? In the whilelist I can do that to allow them but in the blacklist there is no option but MD5, so if I want to prevent scripts files to work with extensions like *.js,*.jar,*.bat, ..etc, is there a way to do that?

What does "Elapsed" mean in agent command log?

Hi guys, I’ve sent a command for some endpoints and after a while (may be 5 days or more) when I checked the agent command log I’ve found it “Elapsed” rather than “Executed”, what that means?

How to force agent update?

Hi guys, How I can force agents to update for last build rather than o that manually? I’ve searched and found that I can send it as a command with the link of endpoint agent software so it will download it and update it but since agent commands has remove the ability to send commands so it can’t be done, any suggestions please?

How to protect from macro attached with Excel an Word?

Hi guys, I have received two excel files from unknown senders and for safe use I’ve scanned them after save them to Desktop but the result is clean, then I guessed may Webroot couldn’t find the malware attached with the files so I’ve submitted both of them to VirusTotal and found both of them infected with Trojans as shown in the link bellow https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/3cb9de0ae0760602b7d593fc728ada547a23cb73783bc3bcf76e1df845720288/detection https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/bf8c83764ed4481eaf3e121144d4a01a69ec5e94f9a25e859cfba07fad47f240/detection I’ve submitted both of them for Webroot to be detected but don’t know if it deal with macros or not since the status for Webroot in VirusTotal is “Webroot Unable to process file type” Any suggestion?

Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 Support

I need to know how much longer Webroot is going to support Windows XP and Windows Server 2003. I’ve heard rumors of a version split, one to control legacy OSs like these and one that would continue to receive updates. However, I don’t have a confirmation on this, nor how long it will be supported. I received my 60 day notice right before Thanksgiving. There was an email address in the email to contact if you had questions, CustomerSuccess@webroot.com. I emailed them on 12/4/2019 and 8 days later I still haven’t received a response to the question I’m posting here. I also have been working with support on another issue and brought this up to see if they knew anything. The support rep was extremely nice, but he was unable to give me any info on this question. We’re a business customer and need to be able to make a decision, which requires input. If we stick with Webroot we need to know that Webroot is going to support these OSs for the following year because Webroot doesn’t offer a ref

waiting for License

I purchased a three year licence which takes me into 2022, but when I ope Webroot my account shows my subscription key code and licence as waiting for activation. The status is Subscription information not available I’ve tried retiring the key code from the confirmation email, it shoe Active, but then waits for a bit and the unexpectedly closes. Anyone seen this before?

Automated endpoint export

Hi, I am trying to automate the export of our list of endpoints. What is the best way to go about this. Using the API to export all of our endpoints and all of their information to a csv file? Or could i automate the export by using the button on the endpoint protection console. Kind regards, Yordi

Input Device (Barcode Scanner) Issues

Hi there, we use barcode scanners to enter QC inspections. With webroot installed, the barcode scanners return random characters / strings. We do not have this issue on devices without Webroot installed. We can not continue to use Webroot with this issue. Any workaround? Thanks!

Webroot recently started blocking a game's Internet Connection

Within the past few days, one of my games has no internet connection when webroot is enabled. This program never had an issue with webroot till recently. No settings I change will allow the connection unless I completely disable webroot. If it is allowing the connection, it makes it so slow that the connection always times out.

I recently bought a inexpensive smart watch (android) it has free app download at google store. I also use chrome as browser on computer. The question I have is since I put the app on phone it seems like about the same time When I would be on my windows 10 computer with webroot secure I was using chrome and I clicked on one of my saved sites one of my displayed favorites and it took me to a picture of android. Also I have had other anomalies not getting right to the correct site is this some kind of maleware or worse

GMail Hack with 2-Factor Auth enabled

I posted the following on another tech forum: I have my business email on GMail. I use 2-factor authentication for access to said business email. I access my business email from 2 computers and 1 mobile Android device. I do not use Outlook or any email client I access it solely through the web browser. I run Webroot AV on both computers and have run MalwareBytes, Hitman Pro and Sophos Virus Removal tool with 0 hits on all.Yesterday, spoofed emails of my business email account originating from all over the world were sent out to my customers with an attached, password protected file that was a virus. In itself this is not unusual, however, each of the emails was a actual reply from a valid email I had received previously. I immediately looked at my google account settings and verified 2-factor auth, I looked at the devices that were using my email and could verify each one. I could find no proof that someone had gained access to my email other than myself.Does anyone have any suggestion

Can't uninstall WSA when logged in as an administrator, Can't open the dashboard, Constantly requesting permission to make changes to computer

Hello,I have been having a large amount of issues with WSA recently. Over the last month I have probably uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times! My issues have varied between having WSA taking up an absurd amount of RAM, being unable to open WSA, and others. Everytime I boot up my computer, WSA asks to allow access to make changes to my computer. Every time I try to open WSA it asks to allow access to make changes, even if I had already said yes at startup. Now, I can't even get the app to open. I can't uninstall the app either because it doesn't recognize me as an administrator (I am logged in as an administrator, I've checked). The hours of availability for customer support are awful and I cannot be at my computer to be able to review the problems with them. Does anyone have any advice?

Webroot self abort

Webroot is self aborting on scan. Happens most often at startup but not always. Also occurs on some initiated scans but not all. Webroot has been removed and reinstalled - no change. Two different Webroot tech have remotely logged into my system to check operation, inspect logs etc - no change.Problem was “elevated” to tech department and message received for available times. I responded with a wide range of times available (I’m retired). Nothing has happened. Multiple follow up messages with no response. Webroot continues to regularly abort scan.

Received webroot notify viber base.apk contains trojan virus. 1. Ran quarantine and deleted app. 2. Reinstalled viber via google play.. 3. Receieved same error 4. Ran quarantine and delete. According to google play, viber product was updated 26nov19. Uncertain if legitimate problem or discrepancy between webroot and viber. Cannot Play Assetto Corsa Competizione online while Webroot is running

Hello, After a long process of elimination, disabling everything but Webroot, I’ve determined that it was Webroot that’s keeping me from joining online servers in Assetto Corsa Competizione.(or at least disabling it resolves the issue). I’ve tried things like adding it to the list of allowed programs and disabling WebShield Realtime Shield and Firewall. No luck. I have to shut Webroot down if I want to play. This has been going on for 2 to 3 weeks. I also get the same problem in iRacing. Also, I’ve noticed SimRacingStudio crashing during this period, and it never has before (I use SimRacingStudio to send telemetry data to my motion rig). I’ve found the following error, after reading the logs from Assetto Corsa Competizione: setTimeout error detected 10038 Here’s a link to an article about it. Any Ideas? Thanks

11/27/209 I just had an update on my windows 10 machine to OS version 1909. Now I can’t print on my Epson WF 3620 printer connected via wifi network unless I turn webroot completely off. How do I resolve this?
