Webroot Warning About WRWTSSvc Trying to Install Itself -- Friend or Foe?

Getting warning at startup from Webroot that following is trying to install itself at every startup: Registry Key: \REGISTRY\MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\WRWTSSvcWebroot default action is to then disable that update. Is this legitimate or imposter update attempt?If legitimate, it seems to be a Webroot-related service, so why would Webroot not be recognizing it as part of its own software?Thank you!Arv

No longer can see the option to scan files when right clicking on them

As the title says. As of updating my webroot subscription and keycode from Bestbuy, I can no longer right click a file and click “Scan with Webroot” option. I can still scan normally using webroot, but that option is gone. I tried going to bestbuy geeksquad online for direct support, but they swear this feature was never there, when I know it was there. Any advice.

Picked a virus that Webroot missed: mergenetworkprotocol

I clicked on a link I shouldn’t have, and by doing so introduced my computer to a malwar called mergenetworkprotocol. It produces pop-up ads on my computer that won’t go away. On the web, I learned that it can do a lot of other nasty things. How can I get rid of it?

False positive, recommending my customers uninstall your product

Hi, I have many customers using your software and it is blocking my vpn from working, you’ve lost 5 customers this week as ive recommended that they use malwarebytes instead. I contacted you ages ago on email and was told since my app doesnt have a cert you wont approve it. Well malwarbytes and most of the other avs have approved my vpn. So you leave me no choice but to tell my customers to uninstall your anti virus. I have 44,000 users of my vpn. What is my PC covered with? Also if i had Antivirus/worms before i renewed my Acct. would it be wiped out?

I have webroot coverage for VPN plus I think anti Virus. But I have a thing called HP Smart printer and they told me that I have malare and worms on my system, so if I have antivirus that should kill it yes? Please have a support agent call me to set me straight. Also my PC says I have coverage as a tablet is that correct?

outlook email address has been scrubbed

I am new here. Currently running WebrootSecureEverywhere. My wife's outlook email address has been scrubbed and now receives 75-250 spam/phishing emails a day into her junk folder. Is there anything we can do to filter/block this kind of activity from reaching her account? Right now we have to manually delete these on a daily basis. Welcome any tips that can can be implemented. change email address for webroot account - compromised

hello, I am not sure this is the correct place to ask but i am getting nowhere with general support it keeps looping to the main webroot page when they send me a email address and password to log in. anyways the issue is i have an account somewhere with webroot not sure becuase i have not used it in a while under a gmail account that has been compromised on the dark web. I need to confirm if this email is still in use and have it deleted. please assist if any thanks

There is a lot of historic data in both and I would like to clear it if possible. I would also like all the information to be in one place? It’s all a bit confusing. A long time ago I had one log in and a console I could add customers keys etc and create groups for collections of keys. I think this was probably 2. but I can’t see any way to add or delete old info?Can anyone clear this lot up and put me on the right path?Thanks!

I keep getting a CAPTCHA box that pops up from Webroot. It appears for less than a second over top of whatever I’m working on then goes away. This occurs with varying frequency - sometimes every minute or so. When it happens, whatever I'm working on stops and sometimes minimizes. How do I get rid of this?

Why wont my HP Pavilluon Windows 7 laptop let me install WR Secureanywhere?

I keep getting this error message and this is after a fresh reformat + reinstall of Windows 7. I can't find the picture of the error message either. I'll keep looking. It may be a virus in the bios preventing webroot from installing since this is a fresh install of windows 7 with hard drive reformat.

Authentication Code, not asking for specific 'digits'

I have an authentication code which I have used before. When asking for the code I am getting the dialog below. When I enter the whole code it says its invalid. Googling seems to imply I should be getting asked for specific letters/numbers, eg, enter SECOND… FOURTH letter. What can I do, I have tried 2 browser, chrome and firefox and both with same results

When Webroot was checking my computer, I received a call from someone who identified with Webroot and said my computer was corrupted and I needed to add a firewall which I agreed. Now that I have received a bill for $799.99 from Crown Technologies from Richardson, Texas, I beginning to think that I have been scammed. Has anyone else had this experience?

Is is still a good idea to stick to LastPass that comes with a Webroot subscription?

I use a Webroot Internet Security Plus subscription that comes with a LastPass account. With all the negative media reports, reviews and opinions being thrown around in the social media circles, I was wondering if fellow Webroot community members who are all using Webroot ( I assume) for their internet security, would still recommend using LastPass as the primary password manager as it comes together with the Webroot subscription. sm-d
