Why isn't Webroot or Mozilla stopping this obnoxious Bing popup? https://advertise.bingads.microsoft.com/en-in/affiliateprogram?s_cid=en-in_smb_a_cj_5827583 How can we make it stop?

Newbie here, and, of course, a question....

I just installed webroot on my iPad Air. When I log onto the website, it indicates that I have one PC, and NO mobile devices secured. I would feel a little better it it showed ONE mobile device. Have I done something wrong?

Skype nuisance

  Hi all  :D   Please could I ask` what may seem like a strange…..but totally genuine question as I don’t know where else I could ask it……… about 6 weeks ago I set up a Skype account in order to speak with a Doctor in America as a patient, purely for medical purposes.  I only have two contacts, this Doctor and a friend who helped me set up my Skype account.   Since then, every day when I’m on my Laptop, I’m disturbed by that echoing bubble sound that Skype makes and there are between 2and 4 men (always men) messaging me, asking to make contact. I don’t have my picture or any status or info…… these are all unsolicited. They are mostly USA, though some Australia and a couple have been UK….. a lot of military profile pictures…… strangely; ‘Generals’ lol and ……..a few even of Doctors? It all seems very fake Why is this?  Is it a security risk?  a scam? How do they find me? And how do I stop it.     Thank you in advance Kindlyz Allyb.

How to Resolve pop ups all the time and pre-installed windows ?

Hello ,   I am using windows 7 64 bits on Intel i5. After playing a pop up flash movie my system is behaving weirdly. I am getting a lots of pop ups all the time and pre-installed windows defender is also not working. May anyone please help me to identify the problem and what is going on inside my system?

Hello, and just got webroot..Not sure how it works, but it got some great reviews, price was right, etc.  I do a lot of "sweepstaking" and believe me won many many things. Problem is, get sooo much spam, junk, etc. Which I am willing to put up with, worth the benefits for me.  But, since I had webroot, have noticed so much of my junk, spam is going to my inbox.  And also, (dumb question) what is the little lock for?  Am I suppose to run it on my own or what.  Thanks for your patience.

The renweal process is confusing.  I have 9 days left on my existing subscription, so Ipurcased ar enewal license.  Its a different licens soit  appears my protection will not automatically extend and I must upfdte my licenses on each computer.  Is this correct?  IS there a way to link the two licenses so my current subscription just extends at the end of it's period? thanks,john

 Hi Guys,   My Webroot security is up for renewal..........can I just ask.....is the ‘complete’ the best package to have??......... Just to refresh so you don’t assume I’m some sort of joker (and to those who don't know).......I'm bedbound, chronically ill from a virus, contracted 3yrs ago following a routine tooth op.  It entered my brain and central nervous system and has affected all my systems and organs......   My laptop is now literally my whole world.  However, I’m not up to complex answers. I just didn’t want anyone at a quick glance to think it was a shallow or trivial question, without knowing the facts. :$    Unfortunatly I can’t keep up to all security information as my cognition is impaired and fluctuates greatly. This will be my 3rd year of Webroot security and I greatly appreciated being excepted into the community (though are can’t participle as often or to the level that I would like) but where I can ask dumb question……. And it be OK

a whole new reason to compute

having been through (alive and kind of old) during the Tandy computer days, the DOS days, and now everything should be a breeze. and yet spending time now in sites of "why" and "how?" A webroot customer now going on 4 or 5 yrs...and BAM, crap hits the fan, no wait, it goes through the fan, and no company, hp, ms, webroot caught it. Any youngsters, anybody at all here, do you know anything about AMD Gaming Evolved program that is connected with Raptr Desktop App and AMD Catalyst Control Center that will crash nearly everything?? Googled "is Raptr Desktop App a virus"  results in: if attempted to uninstall a trojan horse is activated?  Anyone know about this stuff? MS spent over 4 hrs last nite fixing it...it didn't work. Just curious...and attempted to contact webroot chat....it opened and then it's busy! A service meant to guard the simplest of comands...busy. Call back later??? Webroot!

Hello Community

I usually don't join "communities" but I would really like to learn more about internet security and how to better use Webroot. I bought my subscription a couple of months ago and I really like everythng about it so far. Like many, I've used Norton and McAffee in the past. Webroot seems more streamlined and thorough to me. I haven't fully explored the community topics yet. Has anyone mentioned the need for compatibility with Windows 8 phones? I'd really like to use Webroot on my Nokia 1520. I use to be an Apple guy, and I've happily reverted back to Microsoft. Droping my iPhone was the last step. Feel free to contact me. I look forward to learning from all of you here.

No Threats detected

Lately whenever I do a scan, no threats are detected... All the other security systems I have used at least detect something. Any ideas?  Kind of makes me feel vulnerable.

Hello! I'm Mary and have been using Webroot internet security plus (version 8.0.4.70) for a couple of years. The renewal offer (through Best Buy) expired a month ago---oops. I bought a new physical copy (from Best Buy). So, do I unistall the expired one, then install the new one?

***** HELP !

SOMETHING TOOK OUT MY WEBROOT ! I bought and installed it in February and now each time I try to use it it says my subscrpition EXPIRED ! I tried a re-install = didn't work. I belong to M.A.R.S.  ( MARS is an acronym for Military Auxillary Radio Service ) and I NEED my Webroot !   OBVIOUSLY Webroot has been compromised by something that an update hasn't (yet ) caught up to.   I would greatly appreciate any help to rectify my situation. Just wanted to say hello to everyone, I bought Internet Security over the weekend after personal recommendations  from friends and great reviews online I have read. So far i love it and am very pleased to have switched from Comcast's free Norton application suite.   glad to be here! :D

my Nme is Angelika and I am also a newbie

and not the GREAT Expert..so I have to learn quite a bit...   any idea why some programs do NOT download properly and some do ?? As an example some of my last XP updates don't download...   or I could download REVO Uninstaller  and CCleaner..but NOT " Should I remove it"...tried everything what They said, shut down Webroot, Windows Firewall..but the Install procedure did not finish...   what is it I have to watch for ?? I am trying to use windows update, which used to work fine. Now I get the message:   Failed to find the required file. C:documents and settingsAll usersApplication DataWRDatapkgPplugin.dll   Even if I disable webroot, Update just hangs. What can I do?

Hi, My name is Carol and I am new to the Community

I started using Web Root this year and want to learn about it and how to get the best out of what is offered. My computer skills are fairly good but I still can get stumped by something that should be simple. I am looking for help now. I hope someone out there can help me or at least advise me where to go for help. I use Windows Live Hot Mail and several weeks ago- after composing and sending two messages out- I got an error message, 3204. Can not send or receive... I have struggled with looking for an answer to fix this and it seems so many of the sites that offer support also want money.... It was suggested I disable the firewall- would that work? Any help is appreciated... Looking forward to learning from you all. Thanks, Carol

Windows issues support

Hi i am very happy to be acepted in this comunity and to learn about webroot i feel secure and i think i work better than another security products. I see very interesting options t remove malware as a scripts and i see another options to revert malware effects. I see your support and your forum voluntaries are too active. I am impressed. Its like live chat but whith no prefabricated answers and whith solutions. Incluse one guy test a software for me and bring me peace on mind but i have a philosofy and want to share whith you. I think too much  security companies take care of desinfection process and prevention process, but generates more problems than they solve for example FP or system files who they deleted as in mexico says "A diestra y siniestra" to refer whitouth thinking. MSE blocks chrome sometime, Mcafee inutilizes too much computers whith an update. Kaspersky relees a signature who other companies copies and crash computers. I think they dont care about windows well fun

Hello

Hi, I am fedupWmachines 😠 ; all of them; and then some! But I need them and there is still much about them I love. So, I am here to learn. Probably ask lots of questions. Am non-tech, but was techie(over 25 yrs ago:D) so kinda starting over. Have had some kind of PC for a good 25 yrs, added games, phones, tablets (most recent), laptops, etc....and been with Webroot quite a long time.
