I am attempting to troubleshoot an issue where WR support indicated copying the policy in use, rename the newly created policy, then edit the changes i need. Cannot edit any settings on new or default policy. Checked another client (out of 100+ companies) and not able to edit their policies as well. I am Admin. What has changed?

Does Webroot automatically scan Microsoft Office files when opened and/or downloaded for issues like Macro viruses?  Is there a setting in the management console for turning this feature on or off?  I'd like to turn it on if it is not the default.

The latest Webroot release 9.0.15.43 with its updated wrkrn.sys file seems to have caused some BSOD's with 2008r2 after our systems rebooted last night.  I was able to delete the file from a repair command prompt and then reboot into normal operating mode.  I have a ticket in with Webroot support about this issue, but I thought my issue should be shared.   Update:  I have talked with an MSP using Webroot who has had the same problem today.  They also report that if you reboot your machine again after Webroot has a chance to reinstall the wrkrn.sys file it will start throwing up BSOD messages again.

I have read that Webroot can run along side Windows Defender. My question is what's the point of having defender running when we have Webroot SecureAnywhere running? If your recommendation is to disable Windows Defender could someone give me the steps to do so in Windows 10 and Server 2016?

After recently terminating a 3rd party IT support service they sent a remote consol command to remove their remotely managed Webroot Secure Anywhree from our network (45 workstations & 5 W Std 2102R2 servers). Although the console shows from their end that all agents were deactivated and uninstalled, that is certainly not the case.    The next day, completely unaware the failed uninstall attempt occured, I came in to find all 5 W Std 2012 r2 servers c: drives completely full. I then discovered the reason was Webroot created a WRLog.log file in c:WindowsTemp directory that expanded exponentially until maximum storage space was depleted. After contacting a support tech from the IT mgmt service we were finally able to stop the service, delete the expanded WRLog,log file and then manually uninstall the agent from the cmd line for all of the servers. The following day, the problem started all over again and I had to go through all the steps to delete the temp log file once aga

I manage one console for all my business clients and need to generate a report on all upcoming expiring sites so as to send out renewal reminders.   I'm doing this by manually checking back on invoices from last year but I'm sure there has to be a way to generate a report from within the console?   Can anyone please advise of the process if this feature is available?

I have installed webroot secure anywehere endpoint protection trial version in my laptop. now i am unable to remove the antivirus. When i tried to remove anitivirs , its requesting me to remove from the console first. I fogot the secure code and i am not able to login to the console. When i try to reset the securecode its asking me another security question, which answer i forgot.  I get an error - Error(UPA004)   How can i reset this security code and remove webroot from my pc

Over the past week, I have had handful of fresh webroot installs that have not created most/some of its registry. I have mostly come across missing keys under Status, which are either infected, managed, and/or attentionrequired.  I manually added them and found that webroot would change them once added, when I used a test virus. However the latest one that I deployed was missing most of the sub folders under WRData.   I have uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled and rebooted without any luck. I have also left it running in this state for several days to see if it resolved itself.   This is an issue, because my company relies on registry keys as apart of it's monitoring processes to intergrate within our RMM tool. I also can't be confident that webroot is working properly, when it isn't installing it's registry keys properly.

Hi,   I am trying to generate a Business Trial account and at step 2 when I finish typing in account detail, it shows Error(UAL203):The keycode is invalid. The code is self generated from the system. I always get this problem when generating a trial code account.   Thanks, Ken

We are a non-profit serving nonprofits... and switching to Webroot Business. A potential user has a good question. They're running 300 computers (in Papua New Guinea) over a VSAT line - 3mb down, 1 mb up. Not a whole lot of bandwidth :) Naturally, they'd like to know how much bandwidth will be used by Webroot! My additional question: what settings can help minimize bandwidth, and minimize impact on link performance, for low-bandwidth and/or slow links? Obviously the initial install file is quite small and could be a single download. But what then... Anybody have any data or insight?

Hello, I am working on an issue that has been somewhat a pain. I took over for a previous IT company that had Webroot SecureAnywhere deployed at this client.    They pushed their uninstall script and mainly it removed the AV from most computers. Now there is one computer that it didn't. The computer was having issues when I first arrived and then noticed it had 0 bytes free on the C: drive. I first removed temp files and disk cleanup and noticed it just kept filling back up. I thought virus at first so tried running some cleanup from the already installed tools (Webroot & Malwarebytes), but nothing was showing up. Eventually I was able to get into safe mode and clear enough space and quickly install TreeSize and see where the culprit was.   It was the WRLog.log file, it was ~80GB. I was able to delete it then I tried running the C:program files (x86)webrootwrsa.exe -uninstall command. The popup came up to enter a captcha and uninstall and I entered it yet it wouldn't

 Topic says it all.   I've got about $50,000 in software here that I can't update because your AV software blocks it.   This started about 2 or 3 weeks ago, maybe a little more.   It's also deleting the plugins that I have for Autodesk Inventor.   Now, if I could get the IT people to let me turn it off temporarily, that'd solve the problem with the software updates ... but it wouldn't help with stopping your software from killing off my plugins.   This is a pretty massive fail, Webroot.  Are you guys partnered up with the makers of Solidworks or something?

During a fault condition, a Winlogin 4005 error occurs where an RDS user is unable to connect to the RDS server, and the event logs display a message indicating that Winlogin has stopped responding.   Update: Interim advice issued by Webroot engineering teams recommended setting the WSAB Self-Protection function to ‘Minimum’ on all Server Policies as this significantly reduced the frequency of Winlogin 4005 errors in most cases. Webroot engineering teams have developed a fix which is currently undergoing regression and environment testing. The engineering and QA teams continue to treat this as their highest priority and are predicting this new build will be targeted

Curious about the threat detected showning pathname as ?:/ instead of c:/windows/system32 for example  

We have a Trendnet security appliance that is viewable through IE only and Websense is blocking the plugin that it uses from running. IE doesn't even acknowledge that it exists and prompts me to install the plugin everytime I connect. Webroot support hasn't solved the problem yet although I'm still going back and forth with them.   I know it is Webroot because the system works as intended when I uninstall Webroot.   Thanks for any suggestions all!

I'm deploying Webroot to a new client. We're doing a silent install for now but they don't want the Webroot Filtering Extension. As I understand it, the Webroot Filtering Extension is deployed alongside of the agents. I would like to know if there is a policy setting that I can enable that will keep the extension from deploying? I've tried turning off the Web Threat Shield and disable a few settings with the Identity Shield, but this does not keep the extension from deploying. If not, I'll just keep my original settings and we'll have to manually disable though I was hoping not to do that with 100+ computers.     Thanks!

Hi I'm Davide and i have question: I have configured some endpoints with a 3-hour polling interval, but in console I see that the column "last seen" are updated more often,about every 20/30 minutes. I tried 1 day as interval, with same result. I guess it's normal but in this case does the polling interval indicate the maximum connection time? Or endpoint connects randomly within the polling interval configured? Thank you

Hi,   I am sure I've read about Webroot being the only one AV which has the possibility to revert files to previous versions (especially in case of *crypt* ransomware infection). But I have never seen such an option anywhere inside WRSA. I know exactly what Previous Versions under Windows OS are. And I know how Windows works. But I was hoping Webroot has some ADDITIONAL MECHANISM to be able to revert to previous version, regardless of Windows native file history.   Did I get it wrong about Webroot possibilites? Or am I missing something?   Thanks!

Hello All,   We have been using webroot now for a few months and I have been exploring some of the features that webroot has and I stumbled across the download and run file feature and I was testing it but for some reason I am not able to get it to work. Basically I am trying to run a .msi installer and its not working. Does anyone know which directory the file gets stored when its downloaded? What is the correct syntax that should be used? Any help is greatly appreciated

Does anyone has been using this option?   I try to use it but it doesn't work at all even don't download a file.   Please be so kind and send me a link to application that has worked and installed remotely on your end-points.

Sorry if this has been covered, I did search but didn't find it.  I have a number of 2016 servers but they are all showing as server 2012 in the portal.    I should mention that these servers were 2012 but they were wiped (or a new VM created) and reloaded with 2016 but kept the same name.  Because they were wiped Webroot was reloaded once they were up and running, the old server is showing in the deactivated group as you would expect.   It doesn't appear to be causing any problems as far as I can tell, mostly just to my OCD!
