Webroot

As the title says. As of updating my webroot subscription and keycode from Bestbuy, I can no longer right click a file and click “Scan with Webroot” option. I can still scan normally using webroot, but that option is gone. I tried going to bestbuy geeksquad online for direct support, but they swear this feature was never there, when I know it was there. Any advice.

Hi Happy Easter if you are celebrating.I scanned a new system with Webroot Secure Anywhere and a file that is part of an AMD Driver package is being flagged with W32.Coinminer.Gen.I  uploaded the file to the Virus Total Website and Webroot was the only software that Detected the issue.I have also submitted the file using the report function within Webroot Secure Anywhere which again flagged the file.So if this is a false positive does anyone know what happens next and if it is not a false positive what should I do?Thank you.

Hello,I used to have a laptop that I used Webroot on until I replaced the laptop in March 2023. Prior to getting rid of it, I believed I had cancelled the subscription to Webroot. However, I was just checking bank statements now and saw I was charged 29.99 for “Webroot Yearly Plan” in October 2024 Since I lack the keycode to cancel since the laptop is gone, I attempted to put in my email to Webroot’s Auto-renewal Cancellation link here:https://www.webroot.com/us/en/auto-renewal-optoutWhich gave me the response shown in the attached picture. So I called the number and Best Buy confirmed what I had said, that the subscription had been cancelled in March 2023. I asked for my keycode to attempt cancelling on Webroot site just in case, which they gave me. When I entered the keycode, I got the other attached image, saying this license is not currently

I’ve been a Webroot user for almost 12 years and am generally pleased with it.However, I have recently been getting fake virus alerts from “Microsoft” and “McAfee” and Webroot isn’t erasing them. For example, a loud alarm tone will sound off from my wife’s laptop, then a few verbal warnings  that we should call “Microsoft” immediately. If I run Webroot at that point, it doesn’t delete the malware, even if I re-boot, etc...Is there a quick fix for this, or do I need to re-install the software?Thanks,Roy in New Mexico

Greetings!I'm trying to renew my Webroot Internet Security for three years, as I've done before. Following the instructions on https://support.carbonite.com/articles/Personal-Mac-Windows-Renewing-Your-Carbonite-Subscription, renewal for only one year appears, with no apparent way to change it. Assistance appreciated! 

Every time I start firefox as a private window, i get a webroot message saying,  To activate this extension, please enter your Webroot SecureAnywhere keycode below,followed by more text, and a box to enter a "New keycode:" which, of course, is the old and only one.Webroot does this Every. Single. Time. As you can imagine, this is extremely annoying. I'm hoping there's a way to enter the code once and for all, private window or not. Can anyone provide a way to do that, please?tia!

Hi all, I’ve been having issues with updating my Nvidia App and Nvidia Drivers while having the Webroot Antivirus installed, which is strange because before this month (March 2025) I used to be able to update both Nvidia App and the Nvidia game driver. I was wondering what could be the cause of this and if there’s a way to fix it because at the moment I have to constantly uninstall Webroot first, then update both Nvidia App and Nvidia Game Driver, and then afterwards reinstall Webroot. Please if anyone has any suggestions or know how to fix it please let me know. I do hope that Webroot fixes this bug soon as I’m not the only whose been affected by this and it’s very frustrating. Thank you and have a nice day. Specter

I lose internet immediately when connecting to Webroot

hi ,my webroot is blue and seems to only scan for a few seconds and cancels .on my Mac at the top right bar click on the webroot icon and a drop down comes up but the scan my computer is grey so you can not click on it if i open the webroot i can press the scan button on the front left but only sans for a few seconds or 10 minutes all so no progress bar comes up.thanks  

We have a few old devices on my account. How do I delete then if the device has been trashed? 

For some reason for the past day whenever my brother tried to play roblox on my laptop it didn’t work. I know webroot is blocking roblox because when I open task manager and try to open roblox, its ram usage goes up for a second or two then goes back down to normal. It only works when I turn off all the protection settings, but I don’t want to do that. Is there any way to get it to work? This happened once in the past but it went away on its own without me doing anything for some reason. This time it hasn’t gone away even after I restarted my laptop. How can I also prevent this from happening again in the future?

Hello Everyone.Inside my Webroot Secure Anywhere CE 25.1, I also have the Secure Erase, I remember years ago it was called Window Washer am i Correct??Years ago my friend who was an Computer Engineer, this is what he told me ,”Quote”If you have a SSD Drive, you should only use the Normal Level of Secure Erase, otherwise If you useMedium, or Maximum, there is a possibility you may Damage your SSD Drives…Is that True?Please let me knowThanks

I have the Webroot secure Anywhere, CE 25.1, also, I am running the current version which Is 9.0.38.39, I have a question please:To see what is the current version and To make sure you have the Current CE, where do you see the Info. From what i know I have to Download the wsinstall and Right Click -Details Correct??What about CE.Thanks

Got a new computer, that’s good and bad.  Has WIn 11 Pro.  Since I’ve had it my Webroot VPN doesn’t work as well.  Slows down the internet feed horribly and disconnects have increased.  This has happened on different routers and with different IP providers at multiple locations, so I don’t think it’s a provider thing.  Any suggestions? 

Just renewed Webroot SecureAnywhere for 1 year with 29 days remaining and the renewal subtracted the 29 days rather than apply them to the renewal end date.  Doesn’t that seem dishonest?

The edge webroot extension is showing caution icons for all sites.  This just happened some time today, definitely doesn’t reflect actually threat levels so not sure what to do.  Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but nothing changed.

After years of relatively trouble-free use, Webroot’s Web Threat Shield is showing a “warning” (orange circle with exclamation mark) on all web sites. Using latest version of Firefox for Win7 (ver 115.20.0). Is this a known problem? Also, in the past users could create a “trouble ticket” with Webroot, but that support seems to be gone.  What happened?

I purchased WiFi Security/VPN and received the email to set up an account. When I click the link it takes me to a page to purchase WiFi Security/VPN, although I have already purchased it. I am a software developer. I wrote a C# app that calls out to my email provider’s SMTP port (smtp.gmail.com). Only when Webroot is running, the traffic port (587) gets closed immediately with this error:System.Net.Mail.SmtpException Message=Service not available, closing transmission channel. The server response was: Cannot connect to SMTP server ::ffff:209.85.200.108 (::ffff:209.85.200.108:587), connect error 10060.This isn’t a problem with the code, or with Google, as it all works perfect when Webroot is NOT running. It’s only when I QUIT (shutdown) Webroot entirely, does it actually then work just fine. I’ve even disabled all the individual Webroot components (real time shield, web shield, firewall) - that didn’t help. I uninstalled and reinstalled Webroot - that didn’t help.  I added my application (.exe) to the file and script exceptions settings - that didn’t help. I don’t see a way in Webroot SecureAnywhere
