Google remembering my passwords while Webroot is broken?

Coincidentally, Google is offering to remember my passwords while Webroot isn't working and still not planned to be fixed for another month. Is Google a safe temporary alternative?

Can't Download Files

Hi, I am unable to download files on my laptop and could not find an answer in the forums. I have Webroot on my desktop computer and an older Asus laptop and it operates trouble-free. However, on my new Acer laptop, I am unable to download any files. The download tab indicates "Failed - Virus Scan Failed." This is immediately apparent with small files, such as images. With larger files, such as podcasts, the download appears to progress normally, with the timer counting down: 3 minutes remaining, 2 minutes remaining, 1 minute remaining, etc. until the end at which point the Failed tab pops up. I followed Windows instructions to be certain that the Internet Settings were not hindering this. No other virus or protection programs are active on the computer that I am aware of, including Windows Defender. Can someone please tell me if Webroot is blocking these downloads, and if so, how to correct this. Your help would be greatly appreciated. The inability do download any

Geeksquad from Bestbuy deactivated my subscription without my knowledge

In March 2018, my old computer died and I had to purchase a new one. I went to Bestbuy and purchased a new computer. With the purchase and year support to Geeksquad, came a 6 mo and a 1 year subscription to Webroot. I had informed Geeksquad that I already had a subscription to Webroot that did not expire until September 2018 and I would like to have that one installed on my new computer. Instead of installing my current subscription, someone inactivated it and installed the ones for 6 months and a year. Not knowing this, I was charged the yearly subscription fee in August 8, 2018. Due to what Geeksquad did, I paid for something I didn't have and the Webroot they installed will be up on March 22, 2019. Since I am going to have to renew in March, I would like to request a refund for the one that was inactivated in March of last year and I was charged for in August 2018. I have a computer that did not update when I updated by adding a new code from my expired code. how can I update or do I need to delete the computer and re add it. Also how do I add a new computer to my list. if I need to delete the old webroot and re install new computer how do I do that

Webroot ratings not working

The Webroot ratings on my Google searches have always worked fine until today. When it was working I would get a green circle informing me that the website I'm about to go to is okay, but now I get a gray circle and when I hover over it I get a "Rating temporarily unavailable...." message. Is there a system-wide Webroot problem or should I be doing something to restore the ratings? Please advise. Thanks. Tom

I have suspicious notifications popping up from "www.mp3juices.cc" I think this began when I was hunting some sound clips for a film project and must have downloaded something sketchy unawares. OOPS. Now I'm getting notifications with scantily clad women and also notes that say "System infected! Click here to clean up!" in various versions. Webroot has done its scan and finds nothing. However, it's obvious there is malware. What can I do? Do I need a different software to find this?

Webroot, let it expire?

My problem: I bought my Webroot Anywhere for 3 devices from Best Buy. They cleaned 1 computer, I purchased a new Laptop computer and they put Webroot Anywhere program on both. I went to Best Buy with my Laptop and discussed my issues with not being able to access my Account Console or my Password manager. My Account when I access it from Webroot is as if I don't have anything being protected. The Tech told me, because of many issues I was having, it would be easier to let my Webroot subscription expire and then purchase a new subscription. The Tech assured me my computers were being protected but that I would not be able to access my console or password manager. Should I do this, and let best Buy do a new Webroot install?

Popup when WEBROOT is opened

Every time I open WEBROOT on my PC, I get a popup in the lower RH screen telling me to review how well WEBROOT has protected me. After I do the review, I still get the popup. Can this be turned off?

Override Database not Updating

I've noticed an issue where the override database isn't updating on all my endpoints. There doesn't appear to be any relation as to which endpoints don't get updated. It could be an old or new OS. Updating the override database in the console doesn't make the endpoints refresh their Ovr.db files. Due to this, using the override database is almost useless. I have no way to force the Ovr.db file to refresh, except a complete reinstall, and doing that to all my endpoints every time I make a change just isn't an option. Location of Ovr.db file: Older Windows OS: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\WRData\ Newer Windows OS: C:\ProgramData\WRData\ Today is 1/14/2019, so my endpoints should have Ovr.db files dated 1/13/2019 or 1/14/2019. One day behind wouldn't be unusual if they hadn't checked in yet today, maybe longer if the endpoints had been off. However, the endpoints I've checked, have all been on either of those days. WEBROOT SecureAnywhere 2yr. Protection Internet Security Complete Program (Hiccup) :(

Well I just bought this internet security for my laptop and phone. I've followed all of the instructions, clicked all of the internet links provided by email, filled out the form to register and create an account... but for the life of me... it keeps kicking me out and saying that my email is not yet confirmed; and, it won't let me log in after i created the account. Hmmmmmm! I'm confused here ya'll. Same thing happened when I did what the paper said to do to download and activate on my phone. WTH??? I don't get it! I'm a 52 yr "young" Lady, and i know how to follow directions. I mean come on... anybody else have this issue and know how to rectify it? Sincerely frustrated, Mrs. Cheyenne Mass

So,.....I cannot get into my Password manager for a while now, so I cannot access some sites no matter what I do because I didn't write all those fancy generated passwords down. I have proposals to write and no access. blah! I wondered why no one answered here for a while, but I had been banned for most of the last several weeks I have been in the community, because the "AI" thought I was a spammer. Despite my 1st ever question in the community being legitimate and needed. So far, NOT impressed at all. Thinking I should just drop my 13/14 year association with Webroot and find a good service. Very grumpy. I get I shouldn't have relaxed with my passwords. You always account for system fails and I didn't.

Changing Policies in Console

Is it just me or is everyone else unable to make changes to a policy i created 4 years ago!. Using Mozilla Firefox 65, i am now unable to make any changes to anything in the policy. before i would simply double click, make the changes and then Commit the changes and apply to my test PC to ensure they work but i cannot nor do i see any drop down to Enable "Favor low CPU usage over fast scanning", clicking it does nothing and i am the only Admin that uses the console. People are complianing their pc's come to a complete halt when doign a scheduled scan and i agree, my own PC with a Xeon cant even cope! There has been so many issues with webroot the past year that its becoming a joke among my fellow IT-Sec-SysAdmin buddies that i talk to, do an update, reboot end up with 1000 rundll32.dll process running!. Try explaining that to a managing director. Linked to Kasaya? You know they got breached a while back and a lot of their customers servers got crypt0 and trojans but why is it

I have a Dell Desktop Computer, I received an email from someone stating they were going to hold my computer ransom, it showed the email that it was sent and received from my email address. I was also on my phone had plans to go to the police, just before I started to go into the station I looked and the email had disappeared. My question why wasn't I alerted to this or caught as malware? Thank You

Malware removal

I rec'd 2 notifications (within a couple of days of each other) from AT&T, our internet provider. that my desktop had been infected with malware. "gozi". I did a Windows Defender scan and a Webroot scan and no malware was detected. What is my next step?

How do I unblock netsh.exe when I have NO internet connection on that computer?

From reading other questions, I see that I'm not the only one who has had this problem. But I don't understand the suggested solutions. How can I "stay online during uninstall and reinstall" if the problem is that I can't GET online? Help! And Webroot, I notice that this problem has been going on for years. Isn't there some way to tell your software not to flag this item?

Unable to install ManyCam

ManyCam's installation file was identified by Webroot as adware and prevented me from installation. Finally I had to deactivate Webroot to install the software. Is there any alternative to deactivating Webroot for software you know is safe?
